Espionage Island (Espionage_Island.txt)

                         ESPIONAGE ISLAND /by Artic/
                         ===========================

This game (also known as Adventure D) is strictly deterministic, so it is
possible to give exact step by step solution.

                                 Solution:
                                 ---------

TAKE PARACHUTE, WEAR PARACHUTE, PULL LEVER (to leave the aircraft), PULL CORD
(to open the parachute, but the parachute will smother you after landing),
REMOVE PARACHUTE (you are now free), W, W, TAKE BRANCH, EXAMINE CORNER (no
chance - you will hit your head on the fuselage), FEEL CORNER (it is better,
you will fill a string), PULL STRING (some lucky beads will fall out), TAKE
BEADS, E, E, S, E, GIVE BEADS (to the native woman, she will drop a knife),
TAKE KNIFE, S, W, W, W, N, W, KILL GUARD (with the knife), TAKE GUN, TAKE
TORCH, S, READ GRAFFITTI (note the date 27/09), S, ENTER BOAT (you will be
asked do you want to push off), YES (you will be asked do you want to get out;
if you answer NO, you will float in the sea, and be killed), YES, E, TAKE ROPE,
D, N, E, E, E, DROP BRANCH (to form a bridge across the crevasse), S, E (you
are now in a maze), S, E, W, N (out of the maze), U (a large rock blocks the
way), TIE ROPE, TO ROCK, TIE ROPE, TO TRUCK, U, PUSH BUTTON (to start the
truck), PUSH PEDAL (the truck will move and pull the rock away), D, S, TAKE
EXPLOSIVE (now it is a time for a diversion), S, U, S, W, LOOK SWITCH (a switch
for landing light), SWITCH SWITCH (to turn the light off), E, REMOVE LIGHT,
INSERT EXPLOSIVE, INTO LIGHT, W, SWITCH SWITCH (booom; you will hear the sound
of tank moving), U, S (if you don't make a diversion, the tank which was
located here before the diversion will shoot you), S, D, SHINE TORCH, INTO HOLE
(a door will open), S, E, D, KILL COLONEL (with the gun), OPEN CUPBOARD, TAKE
JACKET, WEAR JACKET, N (you will be asked do you want to try to open the safe
using 4-digit code), YES (you will be asked for a code), 2709 (do you remember
graffitti), TAKE BRIEFCASE (this is the secret which you search for), S, W, S
(a fool guard will believe that you are a colonel because you wear the jacket),
E, S, U, TURN LEVER (to start the helicopter), REMOVE JACKET (very important,
else you will be killed very soon from your mens, because they will think that
you are an enemy officier), W (do not go directly south, because you will be
shooted from the anti-aircraft gun), S, S, S (the end).

                                  Hints:
                                  ------

- To save the game, type QUIT (unusually), then YES.
- From time to time typing HELP will give a clue. However, in later stages of
  the game clues are rarity...
- Mazes in Artic's games usualy have a hidden clue for passing. This is also
true in this game: the maze begins in stiched swamp. "Stiched" is the same as
"sewn", so the correct direction is S, E, W, N!
- Don't spend too many time in the swamp, else you will sink down.
- There are some locations without exit in this game (see the map). Avoid them!

                                 Comment:
                                 --------

This game (also known as adventure D) was popular before many years, and it was
avaliable even for ZX81. This is text only game, with short descriptions, but
the game itself is not such limited like "Planet of death". In general,
although the realization of most Artic's adventures is very limited, the
playing atmosphere in these games is not bad. Espionage Island is a bit harder
than earlier Artic's games, but still not very hard to solve. The parser is
two-word parser.
