HINTS SHEET

1. You need a lit torch and a map before entering the secret passages.
Without the map there is no exit.
2. Keep an eye on the location descriptions as they change according to
circumstances throughout the game.
3. Sometimes more than just verb/noun input is required, ie. CLIMB THROUGH
WINDOW, FEEL UNDER DESK, LOOK IN MIRROR, GET RUSTY KEY, etc.
4. Shadows in the Night recognises the full word, therefore it isn't
possible to use abbreviations (ie. first four or three letters), except for
the standard directions etc.
5. There are a number of sound effects throughout the game so turn up the
volume.
6. You will not be able to exit the mansion until you have found and
photographed all five items of evidence.
7. You cannot exit through the front door, you must find another way.
8. The shed key is in the parsley.
9. Turn a head to open a door.
10. The music you need is on the stand. Play the harp to reveal stairs
leading up.
11. Pick the study door lock with what you find in the closet. Beware, the
study desk contains a booby-trap, but also a very important object.
12. Use the axe to smash the glass and get the pot plant.
13. You must peep into the tower room before entering. Pull lever to switch
off the gas.
14. Move the wardrobe to reveal steps.
15. Wear something white before entering the white room, so the robot
doesn't detect you.
16. Move the junk in the store room, then examine the hole to find something
useful and necessary before entering the secret passages.
17. The swimsuit is on the line. Swim to find a net then use it to catch a
goldfish which should be given to the cat.
18. Push the mirror to reveal a secret passage, but make sure you have light
and a map before entering.
19. Tie the rope to the balustrade and climb it to the orchard, then climb
the gate to a hidden garden and the aviary. Use the umbrella to get the
long key which unlocks the chapel.
20. Dig in the graveyard to uncover a tunnel entrance which is one way.
21. There is a useful scrap of paper in the summerhouse if you examine.
Lift the seat for a trapdoor to reveal another entrance into the secret
passages, but you must have opened the other entrance first or you will be
trapped.
22. Lever the window bars using the crowbar and climb through the window to
the roof.
23. Tie rope around the chimney pot.
24. Unscrew the clock panel with the screwdriver to lower the chandelier.
25. Once you have the code you can type on the black box to disable the
force field.
26. The long pole opens the trapdoor to the attic. Use the pot plant to get
the small key.
27. The remote control opens the outline of a door.
28. The exit is through the garage when all photographs have been taken.
