This game would have been improved significantly had it been playtested. I played a "doctored" version, but in the original the word UMBRALLA had to be typed, instead of the correct spelling. In the introduction it tells you that it took a year to create, which I find VERY hard to believe! The introduction tells you that your name is Elliot. You were the owner of E.T. the Extra Terrestrial. Last year he came to earth and was being taken care of by you. After he left, he came back to find a way to give you a reward but he was afraid of seeing anyone else but you. So you must find him and receive the reward. You must be quick or he will return to his own planet - that must have taken a long time to write!

The graphics are typical hi-res graphics of the day and vocabulary is verb/noun. Playability is spoilt by the fact that there is a 20% random change of being confronted by Gertie when you must give her the candy. If you don't have the candy the game finishes. There is only one lot of candy, so once this has gone there is no choice but to restart. ET Comes Back is very short and can be completed in approximately fifteen minutes. I really can't see how it took anyone over a year to write!
