Solution: --------- EXAMINE BED, GET SHEETS, U, PULL BARS (one of them is loose), GET BAR (it is possible to squeeze through), D, OPEN DOOR, W, S, KILL GUARD (with the bar), DROP BAR, GET GUN, EXAMINE GUARD, GET KEY, OPEN CHUTE, PUT GUARD (in the chute - you will be asked for a confirmation), YES, N, E, U, TIE SHEETS, SQUEEZE THROUGH BARS, AVOID EXAMINATION (not strictly necessary, but it prevents you to be killed randomly during the following few moves), GET SHEETS, E, EXAMINE SACKS, GET TORCH, W, UNLOCK GATE, OPEN GATE, N, ON TORCH, DROP KEY, E, E, SHOOT SNAKE, S, EXAMINE LEAVES (to reveal a hidden pit), E, S, S, S, S, EXAMINE NATIVE, GET BEADS, N, E, N, DROP GUN, GET MASK, WEAR MASK, S, S, S, S (here the mask protects you), W, W, W, S, W, REMOVE MASK (else you will scare the native), DROP MASK, W, GIVE BEADS (to the native - you will leave the boat), ENTER BOAT, N, LEAVE BOAT, GET BOAT, W, EXAMINE BUSHES, GET WATER, W, HOIST SHEET (to the boat, to make a sail), DROP BOAT, ENTER BOAT, W, DRINK, DRINK, W, DRINK, W, DRINK, W, DRINK, W, DRINK, W (the end). Hints: ------ - Do not enter into the dusty corridor while carrying knotted sheets, else you will be arrested. - You can not do nothing useful with a peephole or with a wooden door in the dusty corridor. A tasty pie is also of no use. - Pushing the guard down the chute is essential, else your crime will be discovered. Also, do not try to enter the chute, if you don't want to finish your life in a furnace! - Instead of SQUEEZE THROUGH BARS, ENTER BARS or USE SHEETS will work as well. - Instead of typing AVOID EXAMINATION, DODGE EXAMINATION will work as well. If you don't type nothing of those, there is a chance that you will be randomly killed during next few moves. - Do not turn on the torch in the prison courtyard, else you will be killed. - Day dawns at a random moment in this game; after this, you can drop the torch. - You can EXAMINE CLEARING at the jungle clearing to find a long branch. However, it is of no use. - Going accross rickety bridge is deadly. There is nothing you can do with it. Also, squeezing east from the place where you hear a throaty growl is really a very bad idea. - There is an alternative method to solve the "blowpipe" puzzle. If you don't wear a mask while walking accross a clearing, you will be shooted from the blowpipe with a poisoned dart. If this happens, KILL NATIVE (with the gun), EXAMINE NATIVE (you will find an edible root), GET ROOT, EAT ROOT (to cure yourself). - Do not try to swim anywhere: the water is full of crocodiles or sharks. - Do not try to continue downstream when you reach a jetty, because the stream is too strong. - There is no alternative way to reach the sea with a boat; if you try to carry the boat accross the land (i.e. to use a path accross the mountains, look at the map), you will sink in a damp ground, because the boat is too heavy. - Instead of HOIST SHEET, USE SHEET will work as well. Comment: -------- An average text only game, written by Colin Smith using The Quill. The game is in my opinion better than another Colin Smith's game, Ground Zero (which is virtually unsolvable due to unfair "cupboard" puzzle). The parser is a strict verb-noun parser.
