Zim Sala Bim Walkthrough by Alex Dijkstra for the c64 Due to several bugs in the game it is possible to complete the game by skipping several of the puzzles. Below walkthrough includes all puzzles even if they are not needed to solve because of the bugs. Hint: If you want to speed up the game press 9. Controls: -Left: joystick left or , -Right: joystick right or . -Restart game press restore button or type restart game. You start outside the palace walls, GO FORWARD, walk right until you reach the well, EXAMINE WELL (there is a rope in the well), GET ROPE, walk a bit further right, LOOK (you find a flint), GET FLINT, GO BACK, THROW ROPE (you throw the rope over the wall), CLIMB ROPE, walk right until your reach a gate with a guard before it, stand before the gate (sometimes it is a bit difficult to find the right spot), GO BACK (you enter the palace), walk left, OPEN DOOR, walk left, OPEN DOOR, LOOK (you find a guard's uniform), GET UNIFORM, WEAR UNIFORM, walk right until you reach a closed door, OPEN DOOR (you need to be wearing the uniform while you pass the guard or you are thrown in the dungeon), walk right, OPEN DOOR, LOOK (you find a scimitar), GET SCIMITAR, EXAMINE SCIMITAR (sharp enough to cut through steel), walk left past 2 doors until you reach the black opening in the background, stand before the door, GO BACK, DROP UNIFORM, GET MONEY, walk left, OPEN DOOR, LOOK (you find the sultan's jacket), OPEN DOOR (you can't reach the jacket if the door is closed), GET JACKET, EXAMINE JACKET (you find a key), GET KEY, WEAR JACKET, walk left (leave the jewellery box alone. if you open it you are killed by a poisonous spider), OPEN DOOR, walk left, LOOK, EXAMINE TABLE, GET DIAMONDS (because you are wearing the sultan's uniform, the sultana doesn't recognize you and lets you take the diamonds. the diamonds are not needed to solve the game), walk right until you reach a closed door, DROP JACKET, OPEN DOOR, walk right, LOOK, EXAMINE VASE (you find rubies), GET RUBIES (the rubies are not needed to solve the game), UNLOCK DOOR (you use the key you found in the sultan's jacket), OPEN DOOR, walk right, LOOK (you notice a fireplace), EXAMINE FIREPLACE (there is a secret passage behind it), GO PASSAGE (you go to the location in the desert where you see a pistol), GET PISTOL, walk right until you are attacked by a band of nomadic thieves. you fire your revolver and they disperse (if you don't have the revolver they steal all your belongings), GO BACK, GO BACK, walk left until you reach the beggar, GIVE MONEY (he gives you an old key), walk right to the place where you threw the rope onto the wall, CLIMB ROPE, walk left until you reach the open window, GO WINDOW (you are thrown into the dungeon), GET PLANK, EXAMINE DOOR (the door has iron bars in it), CUT BARS (with scimitar), OPEN DOOR, walk right, OPEN DOOR, walk right, OPEN DOOR, walk right until you are before the opening in the background, GO BACK, walk right, OPEN DOOR, walk right, UNLOCK DOOR (with door key), OPEN DOOR , walk right, UNLOCK CHEST (with old key from beggar), GET GOLD, GO PASSAGE, walk right until you reach a cave, EXAMINE CAVE (rather dark and dangerous with signs of recent activity), GO CAVE, walk left until you reach a torch in the wall, LIGHT TORCH (you need the flint), walk a little further left. You will notice a hole in the ground, DROP PLANK (the plank enables you to cross the hole safely. Without the plank you should according to the program code fall down a deep hole, but due to a bug you can walk over it without falling down), walk left until you meet the villagers, DROP GOLD. The villagers rejoice as they take the gold. You have triumphed!!! Note: -You can use the money to buy food at the market store. You can either eat the food or give it to the beggar, but you shouldn’t because you need to give the money to the beggar in order to obtain the old key. -If you take too long you get weak from hunger and eventually you will collapse from starvation and die, but you should have enought ime to complete above walkthrough. Unfortunately you can't use the money to buy the food.
