Introduction =============================================================================== Released in 1982, Adventure C: Ship of Doom is the third in a series of eight interactive fiction adventures made by Artic Computing. This game is based on an alien cruiser, which has been searching for humanoid planets in order to replace human brains with microchips. The aim is to find the self destruct button in the computer room and then escape from the alien cruiser. =============================================================================== 2. Walkthrough =============================================================================== The game starts in the space craft. Move SOUTH to the alien air lock. TURN HANDLE and the panel will slide open. When asked if you want to go on board, answer YES to enter the reception room. Move WEST three times to the glass room. GET GLASSES. Move SOUTH to the alien bank. GET COIN. Move EAST twice to the weaponry. GET GUN. Move EAST twice and NORTH to the shady room. WEAR GLASSES. REDESCRIBE the room to see the square microbattery. GET BATTERY. DROP GLASSES. Move SOUTH, WEST and SOUTH to the corridor. GET ROD. INSERT BATTERY into the slot in the rod to make a sonic screwdriver. Move NORTH, WEST, SOUTH and WEST to the key room. POINT SONIC screwdriver to open the glass cover. DROP SONIC screwdriver. GET KEY. Move EAST, NORTH, EAST twice and SOUTH to the flashing room. GET TORCH. Move WEST to the window room. GET HOOK. Move SOUTH and EAST to the computer room. INSERT KEY. When asked into what, enter INTO HOLE to release warm air into the cold room. Move NORTH twice, WEST twice and SOUTH to the cold room. Enter any command and the block of ice will melt. KILL GIRL to prevent being killed by her later in the game. SHOOT DOOR to make a hole in it. GO DOOR to enter the main corridor. From this point in the game, aliens can randomly appear in any of the rooms to try and shoot at you. Always SHOOT ALIEN as soon as it appears in the room. GET KNIFE. Move WEST and SOUTH to the passage. SHINE TORCH. When asked what at, enter AT BEAM to make the south exit safe. DROP TORCH. Move NORTH and EAST twice to the android pleasure room. GET MIRROR. Move WEST twice and SOUTH twice to the hold. CUT ROPE with the knife. DROP KNIFE. GET ROPE. Move EAST, DOWN and EAST to the pit room. LOOK UP to see a ledge. TIE ROPE. When asked what to, enter TO HOOK to make the rope with hook on. THROW ROPE and the hook will land on the ledge. CLIMB ROPE to the ledge. Move NORTH to the galactic bar. PAY BARMAN. When asked with what, enter WITH COIN to buy a drink. GET DRINK to enter the laser prison. USE MIRROR to fuse the bars. Move EAST to the lift shaft to see three buttons. PUSH RED button. PUSH ORANGE button. PUSH GREEN button to enter the computer room. PUSH BUTTON to start the self destruct countdown. Move DOWN and WEST to the prison. USE MIRROR to fuse the bars. Move SOUTH twice, DOWN, WEST, UP, WEST, NORTH twice, EAST, UP, NORTH twice, EAST and NORTH twice to the space craft. PUSH BUTTON to complete the game. =============================================================================== 3. Item List =============================================================================== COIN Found in the alien bank. It is used to pay the barman for a drink in the galactic bar. EMPTY GLASS Found in the galactic bar after escaping the laser prison. It is not used. HOOK Found in the window room. The rope is tied to the hook to make the rope with hook on. INFRARED GLASSES Found in the glass room. They are worn so that the square microbattery can be seen in the shady room. KNIFE Found in the main corridor. It is used to cut the rope in the hold. LASER GUN Found in the weaponry. After the block of ice has been melted in the cold room, the laser gun is used to shoot the door to make a hole in it. It is also used to shoot the aliens whenever they appear. MAGNETIC KEY Found in the key room after the sonic screwdriver has been pointed at the glass cover. It is inserted into the hole in the computer room. ROPE Found in the hold after the rope has been cut with the knife. It is tied to the hook to make the rope with hook on. ROPE WITH HOOK ON Made by tying the rope to the hook. It is thrown at the ledge in the pit room. SILVER ROD WITH A SQUARE SLOT Found in the corridor. The square microbattery is inserted into the silver rod to make the sonic screwdriver. SONIC SCREWDRIVER Made by inserting the square microbattery into the silver rod. It is pointed at the glass cover in the key room to open the cover. SQUARE MICROBATTERY Found in the shady room after the infrared glasses have been worn. It is inserted into the silver rod to make the sonic screwdriver. TORCH Found in the flashing room. It is shined at the beam in the passage. VANITY MIRROR Found in the android pleasure room. It is used to fuse the bars in the laser prison. =============================================================================== 4.
