ENCOUNTER Written by Walter L. Newton Walk Through by Dorothy Millard (C64 Version) Walk Through (Start in your car which has stopped after you saw a bright flash of light), LOOK CAR, GET FLASHLIGHT, GET THERMOS (plastic), GET OUT OF CAR (if a blue ray hits you don't worry... off to the east you see a glowing spaceship), E (forest clearing where you see the spaceship), READ MARKINGS (says "T-Pug"), GET ROCK, HIT SPACESHIP WITH ROCK (a hatch opens in the side), OPEN THERMOS, PUT FLASHLIGHT IN THERMOS, CLOSE THERMOS, ENTER SHIP (the hatch closes... you are in the reception area - note everything is made of plastic, good job you put the metal torch in the thermos otherwise it would get VERY hot). SIT CHAIR (you feel a tingle), LOOK TABLE (on the table is a panel with five holes in it, arranged in a small semi-circle), PUT FINGERS IN HOLES (a panel on the table glows and a plastic card pops out of an un-noticed hole in the side of the table... the east and west doors suddenly open), GET CARD (plastic), W (briefing room), INSERT CARD IN SLOT (the nine buttons light up), E, E (flight room where countdown has begun), LAY ON COUCH, WAIT (until the engine comes to life and the ship takes off... you fall asleep... an alien enters and removes all your clothes then confiscates your possessions... when you awake the engines are silent... a hidden door opens to the east and six strange little creatures enter, they unbolt the couch from the floor and carry you out to the observation room where the aliens watch you), WAIT, WAIT, WAIT (you sneeze), WAIT, WAIT (the aliens begin to sneeze, then they die), WAIT (it appears they died of a strange earth virus), GET WEAPONS. N (storage room), GET CLOTHES, WEAR CLOTHES, GET THERMOS, GET FLASHLIGHT (make sure you do not return to the ship carrying the flashlight), S, S (fuel bay where it's dark), LIGHT FLASHLIGHT, GET ENERGY ROD, OPEN THERMOS, PUT ROD IN THERMOS, CLOSE THERMOS, N (back to observation room), DROP FLASHLIGHT, N, W (engine room), PUT THERMOS IN ENERGY CORE (the plastic melts exposing the energy rod to the core which energises the engines), E, S, W (flight room where countdown has begun), LAY COUCH, WAIT (until you take off... you awaken next to your car), GET IN CAR, START CAR (you drive off towards your destination... as you travel you wonder if your adventure was just a dream... as an after thought you turn around to look on the floorboards... you could have sworn you had an old thermos on the floor!)
