V – THE SILVER SAUCER
Written by Ian Moyse (Micronet 800 Telesoftware)
Walk Through by Dorothy Millard (Spectrum Version)

Scenario:
You and some of your friends, Mike and Ron, were out walking when you saw
a flying saucer land on some wasteland and a creature get out. Being
brave, you all captured the creature and while Mike and Ron took ET to
the police you investigate The Silver Saucer.

Walk Through:

on), INVENTORY (carrying screwdriver), UNSCREW VENT, DROP SCREWDRIVER, N
(corridor), W (spacesuit storage), GET SPACESUIT, WEAR SPACESUIT, GET
BOOTS, WEAR BOOTS, W (airlock), GET ROPE (note if you go west you set off
an alarm and the game ends), E, E, N (note must be wearing the spacesuit
or you run out of air), E (engine room), EXAMINE CRYSTAL (looks like it
belongs here – note if you try to get it the ship explodes), W, N, N, E,
E, S, E (antigravity room with a metal ring in the floor), TIE ROPE TO
RING, PUSH BUTTON (you turn the antigravity on and float up to the
ceiling), EXAMINE CEILING, GET PASS (security), EXAMINE PASS (has strange
alien writing on it), CLIMB DOWN (the rope), PUSH BUTTON (you turn the
antigravity off), W.

S, S, W (radio room), EXAMINE RADIO (could transmit over long distances),
EXAMINE BUTTON (note if you press it the alarm will alert the alien
guards), SMASH RADIO (it is beyond repair), E (corridor with a slot in
the wall), INSERT PASS (cells are open), E (cells where the aliens keep
their human prisoners), EXAMINE EYES (the prisoners realise you are
friendly and follow you), EXAMINE PRISONERS (tired), W, N, N, N, E
(shuttle bay where the humans board the shuttle, but there isn't enough
room for you, the shuttle takes off and you have saved the human
prisoners), W, S, S, S.

S (laboratory – leave the capsules, if you eat them you die instantly,
also the X-Ray Specs), EXAMINE JARS (one stands out from the rest), GET
JAR, EXAMINE RED (dust – looks lethal), N, N, N, W (crew's quarters where
you see the crew asleep and a silver holdall – note if you try to get the
holdall you wake the aliens with fatal results), THROW RED (the dust
kills the aliens and it is now safe to get the holdall), DROP JAR
(empty), GET HOLDALL, OPEN HOLDALL (something falls out), DROP HOLDALL,
GET MAGNET, EXAMINE MAGNET, E, S, E (weapons room where you see a robot
guard), THROW MAGNET (short-circuits the robot), EXAMINE ROBOT (badly
damaged), GET GUN (laser – leave the wire), W, N.

N, W, W, W (door blocks your way), E, N (control room where you meet a
crewmember), SHOOT CREWMEMBER (before he has a chance to shoot you), DROP
GUN, EXAMINE CREWMEMBER (dead), EXAMINE PANEL (see a switch marked
"computer open"), FLICK SWITCH (hear door to computer room open), U
(flight deck – leave the torch but this location earns you five points),
D, S, E, N (recreation room), GET BALL (ignore the racket), S, W, W (bend
in corridor), W (computer room), HELP (just type in what you would like
to type into an alien's computer), SELF DESTRUCT (a countdown begins on
the screen), E, S, W (teleport), ENTER TELEPORT, THROW BALL (it bounces
around the room and hits the teleport button on the control panel… you
are transported outside in time to see the ship blow up).

Well done, you escaped and saved the human prisoners. You also destroyed
the radio transmitter to stop the hidden crewmember getting out a
distress call
before the saucer blew up.
SCORE 100%
