Maybe a few too many red herrings, and too many random attacks. But a good story and very challenging in places. Hints: (not given in the order you need them): Your objective is to get three armies to help you defeat Yttrias. You need other objects as well. HELP is available. If you TOUCH AMULET in some locations, it will give you hints, not to mention outright directives, sometimes. To enter certain locations (i.e. past guards, sentries, etc.) you need to be seen as the king. So that means you need to have two objects that define you as the king. What are they? No, I am not telling you. It should be obvious from their descriptions. Extra hints: get those first. What to do when you meet the ghost of Pendarion? LOOK, and then BURY what you see. The spade is needed more than once. You need to have the crucifix when you are in the netherworld. What to do there? Ensure you have a religious object and the amulet and use them in that order. The bath sequence is tricky, When you reach Berik and Calya, it is important that you not carry the letter (you can find it in this general area; you can read it, it adds to the story, but you don’t need to carry it). Also, you may get the message that Calya goes to her bath and returns immediately. If that happens, WAIT, and try again when she goes for a bath again. This game has many random elements where you are attacked. Even it you killed the obstacles, they come back, randomly. When your strength drops (it may have something to do with the times you have been wounded) go revive yourself at the pool. You also meet various people on the road, some of whom will give you something in exchange for what you give them. You need to kill certain attackers: the puma, the patrol, the tiger, the wolf, the robbers, the spectre, the outlaws, the outlaw warrior. Red herrings: letter, vagabond, stick, candle, knife, soap, chicken, abbot, broken spear, perfume, handkerchief. There is a limit on the number of objects (determined by their weight) you can carry. If you are not sure what objects are necessary, or cannot carry any more, I suggest you DROP them in the marketplace – a convenient place as any. The poet is important. He will give you something if you satisfy his more baser needs, e.g. he is thirsty. Remember you can SHOW things to people. Sometimes when you TOUCH the AMULET, it talks to you and you get valuable information. At least on one occasion, it will talk to you without your asking. Heed it’s advice. Wait until nightfall to climb the ivy. The mallet is very heavy. You may need to drop it in order to carry other objects. When you see Kalera, you should give her two objects. Which two? Remember she is a young, romantic girl. TOUCH the AMULET for help. Not objects, like a jewellery or perfume, or a chicken or soaps. That narrows it down for you. Then what? Give her one of the objects. Give her another. Then do something romantic and she will tell you what to do next. Solution: Because of the randomly generated placements/actions, in certain places, often related to where you are attacked this solution may not be exact. This solution also omits the attacks on you, and your killing of the attackers. Keep killing them until they are dead. Restore your strength at the pool if you are wounded too frequently.
