            EL DORADO /Atlantis Software/
            =============================

This game is strictly deterministic, without random events, so it is
possible to give exact step by step solution. The offered solution is a
maximal score solution - the game itself may be solved in less turns.

                Solution:
                ---------

INVENTORY (you are carrying a string of beads), S, S, S, GET FLINT, N, N,
E, S, GET TORCH (now you now need to wander around until you meet pygmies),
S, W, W, N, N, N, W, E, S, S, W, W, N, N, N, W, E (if you play exactly
described sequence of moves, you will meet pygmies just now), TRADE BEADS
(you get a spear in return), N, W, S, W, LOOK THROUGH CREEPERS (you see a
cave entrance), LIGHT TORCH, DROP FLINT, W, U, W, THROW SPEAR (goodbye
jaguar), W, GET ROPE, E, E, N, N, N, N, GET BATON, E, S, W, W, N, TIE ROPE,
D, N, N, E, E, N, PUSH STATUE (to reveal a secret passage), N, PUT BATON
(in the slot), GET BATON (to activate a lift), DROP BATON, N, N, LIFT
STONES (you uncover an axe), GET AXE, E, E, CHOP TREE (it will span the
ravine), DROP AXE, E, E, N, N, PUSH ALTAR, D, GET SWORD, N, W, GET
FIGURINE, E, N, N, W, GET LLAMA, E, D, D, N, U, E, S, S, S, W, S, S, W, W,
W, S, S, DROP LLAMA, DROP FIGURINE, N, N, W, PUSH SLAB (it barely moves),
LEVER SLAB (to reveal a steps leading down), E, E, E, E, U, GET AMULET,
WEAR AMULET, D, N, N, E, N, N, N, W, GET CORNSTALKS, E, CUT WEBS (with the
sword), D, OPEN COFFIN, LOOK, GET HELMET, U, S, S, S, W, S, S, W, W, W, S,

CORNSTALKS, GET BATON, PUT BATON, GET BATON, S, E, S, W, S, S, U, S, E, E,
S, S, D, E, E, N, W, DROP HELMET, N, DROP SWORD, DROP AMULET, S, W, S, W,
W, U, N, N, W, W, N, D, N, N, E, E, N, N, PUT BATON, GET BATON, N, E, E, E,
N, N, N, N, N, GET LLAMA, GET FIGURINE, S, S, S, S, S, S, W, W, S, PUT
BATON, GET BATON, DROP LLAMA, PUT BATON, GET BATON, GET CORNSTALKS, PUT
BATON, GET BATON, DROP BATON, GET LLAMA, S, E, S, W, S, S, U, S, E, E, S,
S, D, E, E, DROP TORCH, N, W, GET HELMET, N, PUT HELMET (well done).

Hints:
------

- You can sometimes get a useful clue by typing HELP.
- You will meet pygmies only once in the game, so you must not skip the
only opportunity for trading.
- You must not visit the starting location more than thrice while playing
the game, else Inti will kill you.
- There is a lot of tasks in the game which are not necessary to do - they
only increase the score.
- Jumping is never a good idea in this game.
- Instead of LOOK THROUGH, LOOK BEHIND will work as well.
- For fun, try top OPEN COFFIN then LOOK COFFIN in the Thunder God's burial
chamber. You will find a dull skull-cap. Try to put it on Inty instead of
putting the golden helmet...
- Also for more funny responses, try to: WEAR HELMET (assuming that you are
carrying it), SWIM (assuming that there is a water nearby), TURN TORCH ON
(assuming that you are carrying an unlit torch) and CLIMB CREEPERS
(assuming that there are creepers nearby).

Comment:
--------

A relatively good illustrated game, written by Dale Samson using The Quill.
An interesting fact in this game is the fact that the game has pictures
which are made exclusively of UDG characters. Such graphic is, of course,
nothing special, but I think that what the author made using only UDG chars
is really miracle in comparing with other games that have character only
graphic, for example, Mafia Contract (the only other game with reasonable
good UDG graphic is Subsunk). The parser in the game is a strict verb-noun
parser. The game itself is easy and logical, although it is not so easy to
find a maximal score solution, because some not so easy puzzles (LEVER
SLAB) need to be solved to achieve a maximal score.
