When you read the note you are asked one of five random questions: * What is the smallest 3 digit number which equals the sum of its digits..... 407. * What is a cubed + b cubed..... 1729. * What is the next largest perfect number..... 8128. * What are the four largest prime numbers less than one million. Of these add the three greatest and from the sum subtract the smallest..... 1999964. * What is the smallest number which can be expressed as a factor of itself..... 1. This information is required in the Ruby Section to operate the numeric keypad..... PRESS.... PRESS ENTER and the door will open. 2. The missive reads:- "Seek your reward with open eyes, And open mind. If thou be wise. Consider she whose argent light Leads eve on from darkest night To golden day, then still goes on To crimson eye, then all be gone." The above refers to the Magik Shoppe puzzle - the first item offered will be the argent, the second golden and "still goes on" third, the crimson eye {ruby}, which is the one you need. The owner of the Magik Shoppe is very shy and hides behind the curtain. He will not come out while you are in the shop. 3. As the proverb states, when you operate the drawbridge "When one door closes another opens." 4. Going south from the Secret Room takes you to a different location depending on what jewel is in the indentation in the table:- (a) Nothing - to cubical cell. (b) Ruby - to middle of field. (c) Opal - to narrow ledge. (d) Sapphire - to octagonal room. (e) Emerald - to jousting field. (f) Diamond - to brick lined tunnels. 5. The leaflet gives the numeric answers to 1 of 5 random puzzles on the note in the torture chamber, 407, 1727, 8125, 1999964, 1. Also it lists the numbers of the rooms to visit via the tree room lift 111 (start number), 728, 353, 588, 666, 357, 753 (exit to thicket). It reads from top left to bottom right line for line. 6. R.O.S.E.D. stands for Ruby, Opal, Sapphire, Emerald and Diamond (the jewels you need to collect and the order to visit the various scenes). 7. When you leave the Ruby Section the first time you drop the clover so be careful and don't try to jump a second time. 8. In the Sapphire Scenario everything, including commands, have a reverse effect. The exception is TURN OFF LAMP which does actually turn it off. 9. The lift takes you to a choice of 9x9x9 possible locations. Most are useless. The useful ones are listed on the pamphlet after the 1:1:1. To check the number type EXAMINE INDICATOR after closing the door. The buttons are a plus and minus system for each of three digits from left to right of the indicated number: 1st digit Purple Pink 2nd digit Brown Yellow 3rd digit Black Orange To operate the lift PRESS SWITCH.
