Introduction =============================================================================== Aunt Velma's Coming to Tea is an interactive fiction adventure that was made in 1991 by Delbert the Hamster Software. It is Aunt Velma's birthday and she is coming to tea to collect her present, but the key to the wardrobe has been lost. To make things worse, the fuse has blown and all the lights are out. The aim is to try and find Aunt Velma's present before she arrives at the house. =============================================================================== 2. Walkthrough =============================================================================== The game starts in the bedroom. GET TROUSERS. WEAR TROUSERS. Move WEST twice and SOUTH twice to the bathroom. EXAMINE CISTERN to see a screwdriver. GET SCREWDRIVER. Move NORTH twice, EAST, DOWN and SOUTH twice to the driveway. EXAMINE GRAVEL to see a garage key. GET GARAGE KEY. Move NORTHWEST to the back garden. UNLOCK DOOR to the garage. Move SOUTH to the garage. EXAMINE BOX to see a fuse wire. GET WIRE. Move NORTH, SOUTHEAST, NORTH twice, EAST, NORTH and WEST to arrive under the stairs. FIX FUSE with the wire and the screwdriver. Move EAST, SOUTH, WEST, UP, EAST and SOUTH into the closet. EXAMINE IRONING to find a pair of gloves. GET GLOVES. Move NORTH, WEST, DOWN and EAST to the kitchen. WEAR GLOVES. GET CHICKEN from the oven. Move WEST, SOUTH twice, NORTHWEST and WEST to the far end of the garden. GIVE CHICKEN to the dog. Move NORTH into the toolshed. GET CROWBAR. Move SOUTH, EAST, SOUTHEAST, NORTH twice and EAST to the kitchen. PRISE CUPBOARD. GET SMALL KEY. Move WEST, UP and WEST twice to the spare room. UNLOCK WARDROBE with the small key. EXAMINE WARDROBE to find Aunt Velma's birthday present. GET PRESENT to complete the game. =============================================================================== 3. Item List =============================================================================== BIRTHDAY PRESENT Found by unlocking the wardrobe in the spare room with the small key. It is automatically given to Aunt Velma at the end of the game. CROWBAR Found in the toolshed. It is used to prise open the cupboard in the kitchen. FUSE WIRE Found by examining the box in the garage. It is used to fix the fuse box under the stairs. GARAGE KEY Found by examining the gravel on the driveway. It is used to unlock the door to the garage. PAIR OF GLOVES Found by examining the ironing in the bedroom closet. They are worn to get the roast chicken from the oven. PAIR OF TROUSERS Found in the bedroom. They are worn so that the player can safely visit the driveway without being arrested. ROAST CHICKEN Found in the oven in the kitchen. The gloves must be worn to get the roast chichen. It is given to the dog at the far end of the garden. SCREWDRIVER Found by examining the cistern in the bathroom. It is used to fix the fuse box under the stairs. SMALL KEY Found in the cupboard in the kitchen after it has been prised open using the crowbar. It is used to unlock the wardrobe in the spare room. =============================================================================== 4.
