AMULET OF DARATH by M. S. Walker (Zenobi Software) This is a relatively short, straightforward game without a great many frustrating challenges. It's purpose is clear from the outset – you are Zachra and have been asked to find two pieces of the Amulet before Paralax finds them. For some reason, the game will not accept the final input line. You start at the Inn. INVENTORY (you have a sword, a gold piece and a silver piece). SPELLS tells you you can cast, DEATH, SHIFT AND FIRE. E, E, N, E, E, EXAMINE BOOK, MOVE BOOK (you create a secret room), E, GET KEY, EXAMINE ROOM, W, W, N, E, EXAMINE VILLAGERS, SAY VILLAGER, E, W (continue to SAY VILLAGER until you get a response about the man on the hill being terrified of soldiers), W, UP, EXAMINE DOOR, OPEN DOOR (the occupant runs out), E, GET PARCHMENT, READ PARCHMENT (I think this is supposed to be a hint about the granules in the bottle), W, W, DOWN, S, W, W, W, W, EXAMINE BED (lumpy mattress), MOVE MATTRESS, GET PASS, W, N, UP, GET MEMO, READ MEMO, DOWN, EXAMINE PASS, GET CARD OUT OF POCKET, EXAMINE CARD, N (you see a guard who wants to see identificaton), SHOW CARD, SHOW PASS (you are ushered in and see Paralax), CAST DEATH, HIT PARALAX. You see a piece of the amulet. GET AMULET. E, S, S, E, E, E, E, GET WATER, S, S, S, S, W, PRAY (you hear a voice tell you a piece of the Amulet is in this vicinity), POUR WATER, UNCORK BOTTLE (you make a paste), GET PASTE, DROP BOTTLE, GET CRUCIFIX, EXAMINE CRUCIFIX, W, EXAMINE DOOR, UNLOCK DOOR, W (you can't go because you are afraid of the dark), E, E, N, N, W, N, N, W, EXAMINE WALL, MOVE STONE (your sword is buried, but you create an opening), S, GET WOOD, N, E, S, S, E, S, S, W, W, DROP MUG. DROP CARD, DROP PASS, DROP PARCHMENT, DROP MEMO, CAST FIRE (you create a torch). Do not waste any time here. W, W, S, E, OPEN TOMB, GET SCROLL, READ SCROLL (you get the Vanish spell), W, N, W, READ NOTE, PUSH DOOR HARD, W, S, GET JEWEL, CAST VANISH, E (you see a chest), MOVE CHEST (you see sand), DIG SAND (you find the second piece of the Amulet), GET AMULET, W, N, E, E, E, UP (the supports collapse), EXAMINE JEWEL, EXAMINE AMULET, E, E, N, NE, S, E, S, LEND ME HORSE, and you are done.
