Synopsis
Plot
You have discovered the ruins of the long lost TEMPLE OF THE SUN. Within its depths are clues to the ancient RITES OF THE SHAMAN.
The find of the century awaits you if you can get through the mazes and avoid the many deadfall traps set by the ancients.
Hidden in the underground chambers is treasure beyond your wildest dreams and the key that unlocks the magical powers of the SHAMAN, an ancient order of wizards so powerful that none dare oppose them.
So come now, if you dare, into the mysterious depths of the TEMPLE OF THE SUN, and emerge with wealth and power. Or die in the attempt.
Notes
This was the third TRS-80 BASIC adventure published by The Programmer's Guild, and is more of a treasure hunt than a true text adventure. Most of the critical items are hidden in randomized locations, requiring the player to tour the map and EXAMINE ROOM frequently. The game features a few random risks, a deadly room that must be avoided at all costs, no SAVE GAME command, and a non-functional INVENTORY command, just to keep things lively.
The game was later published in 1981 in the 80-Northwest book, The Captain 80 Book of BASIC Adventures, pp. 134-147.
There is a port of the game for the C64 by Nathan Butcher.
