I was thinking about this as a way to help direct people to what to contribute.
I know there's a "needs solution" box when searching, and it'd maybe be neat to have a "needs map" box too. Of course this hopes up a whole can of coding worms! Some entries might not need maps, so we might need a ...

Re: Text Adventure Literacy Jam 2025
Thanks for holding this, Garry, and congrats on winning! Anyone who hasn't played his game yet will enjoy it, I'm almost certainly sure.
After 4 years of judging it was cool to participate. And thanks for your help testing too. (A lot's been cleaned up! Oh, and my walkthrough now contains how to ...

Re: Merry Christmas 2024
Haha, yeah. It just hit me when I saw this, the continual updates helped pull me back. (I have a script that opens the site in my browser every other day.) I wondered where the best place was to put such a notice but figured I'd go with one that wasn't too bad.

Various 403/404 errors
I noticed one, then shrugged it off. I wish I had repro steps, but they are fuzzy. I should've taken notes. I didn't find where to report them until now, but I remembered they were in my internet history.

I was ... away from contributing for over a year. But I've been lurking, enjoying the updates, and waiting for the right moment to jump back in.

Re: Adam Atkinson
I didn't know about his influence and what he'd done during an IFMud session where people were testing my game. He found some really good stuff that -- well, they showed insight few people would've had.

How do you tidy up/check/annotate your guides?
I don't do much technically. I have a Python script that lets me be lazy typing commands initially. Then it converts
.w
.s

To

>S
>>X MISCELLANEOUS THING
It doesn't seem like much of a time saver but it's nice.

Re: Writing in information for (my own) series?
I got it, thanks, Garry! I thought I'd looked through all the options, but I hadn't. There was an option in my control panel I 1) hadn't seen and 2) assumed that sort of thing was set by default, but it wasn't.

Thanks to both of you for the responses and tweaking the pages here! It's good to know the process isn't too difficult.
This is a tangent, but does anyone else have a problem with notifications maybe getting spam-screened by GMail? I half forgot I posted here and didn't get a mail notification.

Re: Linking to outside walkthroughs?
Thanks everyone! These seem like really common sense responses.
I guess I can do small stuff like tweet my latest contributions or maybe even have a monthly roll-up at IFDB or intfiction.org.
And yeah I've seen my stuff on other sites too. You can't really stop it i guess.

Writing in information for (my own) series?
Hello again,
I have some games of mine that are on CASA (which is a thrill!) and I had a question of how to note that they were part of a series. I noticed other people had done the work other places e.g. with Problems Compound.
I tried looking at Zork and seeing about sending an update, which ...

Linking to outside walkthroughs?
I'm looking through game data for games I can add information for, and I'm wondering
1. how helpful it would be to provide links to outside walkthroughs such as David Welbourn's which are hard to do better than
2. how we should best add the HTML links as information e.g. "Show update" and add ...

Re: Walkthroughs for IFComp games?
That would have been me. I'm afraid I lost the import script when my old laptop died. Sorry! I would need to rewrite them, and honestly, free time for that is currently not on the horizon.
Incidently, hi Andrew! This is Hannes :)

Re: Walkthroughs for IFComp games?
I noticed there were a lot of IFComp 2010 games filled in but not 2012. Is there any guideline for converting them? The addition of IFComp games to the site was semi-automated, I don't know if the person responsible for the scripts can currently spare the time to run the scripts to bring IFComp ...

Walkthroughs for IFComp games?
I'm wondering what the mods here feel about hosting walkthroughs for IFComp games.
In some cases, walkthroughs are provided as public domain, but in other cases, the games are rather tough (possibly for the wrong reasons) so it might be useful.
