Wow, I set a record for least number of points in a completed game. Now everybody's intrigued :)

Re: Holy Horrors

There, I just finished it as well. Pretty much in the least number of moves. Final score: 19

I presume the max is 100, but I won't pretend that I have any clue as to how it is calculated.
Still, it's very nice finally being able to check this one off after so many years!

Re: Holy Horrors

I'd appreciate that - thanks!

As for hacking the code re: the holder, that would be spoiling the fun (for me at least) :)

Re: Holy Horrors

I'm up to speed as well. I presume the key is in the box, which I can't get to without the sword, which I can't get to without the candle holder.
Sigh. I'll keep looking. But I'm somewhat hindered by the buggy version from STH, which keeps displaying blank messages (such as when looking in the safe ...

Re: Colossal Cave - the board game

I've backed quite a few board games at this point, and I can safely say that each and every Y I've come across has been way deep within "nice, not need to have" territory :) Fun additions, better components etc., but it's the core product that people are basically paying for.
The one computer game I ...

Re: Colossal Cave - the board game

I believe it is/was available for a more reasonable $20 ;)

Some of these Kickstarter supporter options are fairly optimistic. When the Cinemaware folks were trying to get their Wings HD project off the ground, one of the main attractions of the "pledge $10,000" level was a "A LIMITED-EDITION ...

Colossal Cave - the board game

As a huge board game fan it pleased me to no end that CC had received a board game overhaul. Sure, the game looks fairly simple, but with the right text-crowd it should be entertaining :)

Please rate!

As I've written on the front page, we're trying to utilize the ratings system a bit more.
Whenever you come across a game you're familiar with, please consider rating it. With more people rating, the system becomes more and more useful, making it easier to people to pick new games to try out.

Re: M25!

The latter. So that would make it a non-joke game?

Re: M25!

I don't mind adding the genre tag (done already), but I'm not sure I'd know when to apply it. Is a game like Conan Kill Everything a "joke" game? Sure, it's pretty much a one-trick pony, (= a joke) but it's fun and has a few genuine puzzles, which might take it more into straight parody territory.

Re: M25!

How many games of this type do we have? Off the top of my sleepy head I can't come up with any other ones. Then again, I am sleepy :)

Re: Wrong author?

You're right. It seems to have arrived with the import job with did from WoS a couple of years ago. It's been fixed now.
