Re: I just have a quick question?

@IstenNyila and the OP: GTW is a terrific site, and Frank Gasking is doing a great job of maintaining it. But it's mostly games that didn't make it as far as the publishing stage, and so the chance of them turning up at flea markets or similar is probably very slim. But it's still a chance, of ...

I had a hunch that might be the case, just hadn't tried USE. Thanks :)
Also, is there any point to the two desert locations?

Re: The four wands BBC

Okay, I've started part two now. Seems fairly good so far :)
A brief question: I've tried in every possible way (?) to get across the crevice east of the tunnel. I thought I might use the pole or the oar to vault across. Did you get across the crevice?

Good to se that you're still around! If you have problems with specific platforms, drop me an email and I'll try my best to help you.

PS - Avatar #2, eh Jacob? Nice.
I thought that I'd swap one old geezer for another ;) (and since my all-time favourite movie is coming out on Blu-ray soon, El ...

New documentary on the UK gaming industry

A couple of UK filmmakers are preparing a documentary on the development of the UK gaming industry, from 1979 to 1996.
It's about gaming in general, so it's not specifically up our alley like Get Lamp was. Still, I have a hunch that there are bunch of retro buffs hanging out here :)

I have been in ...

Re: Duplicate Prisoner Entries?

You are both right. I should write a new game - nine titles are too few by far ;)

Best regards,

Re: Duplicate Prisoner Entries?

Ok, here goes. I finally managed to sort out the different games. The page Dave linked to got several things right and a few things wrong.

What we end up with are the following:

The Prisoner by Francis A Shailes, (C) 1986/1988. WoS link . All solutions and hints belonged to the Adventure ...

Re: I just have a quick question?

Yes, there seem to be quite a few. I'm mostly familiar with the Spectrum titles that have gone AWOL. On other formats it often gets tricky to distinguish between lost titles and ones that simply never got a release.
As for a list.... hmmmm.... I don't have anything readily available.

Anyone else?

Re: Get Lamp Interviews

I thought that it was a missed opportunity to pass over the European contributions to the genre. Too bad Richard's contributions weren't edited into the main doc, but at least this is nice having. Thanks for the heads-up!

Contacting authors via Facebook

On a number of occasions I've used Facebook to track down various authors. So far it's worked pretty well, but lately I've run into the problem that users which I'm not friends with will not receive my messages. Apparently the messages just vanish into thin air.
This is potentially rather ...

Re: Nostalgia

Moriarty, are you by any chance still in touch with any of the people from back in the day? One of our missions is to track down authors and other personalities from the heyday of adventuring, but it's mighty difficult to locate most of them.
