Re: New site name?
I wanted the "CASA" in the house to be a cut-out that revealed the aforementioned twisty passages, but at the scale of the picture it's a little difficult to put in that detail within the letter openings. I suppose I could put a big hole (or several) in the roof and place the passages there, this ...

Re: Duplicate Prisoner Entries?
Much as I like The Prisoner, trying to tell apart the many games based on it has been a nightmare. I can't remember the details right now, but I'm almost certain that the game entries themselves are correct, and that the solutions have been assigned incorrectly.
I will try to update the entries a.s ...

Re: New site name?
Ah, I hadn't though along those lines :)
If I have given the impression that CASA isn't a solution archive any longer, then I haven't expressed myself very well. It certainly is. But it's also a lot more than that these days, and that's what should be expressed somehow.
One option is to get a new ...

Re: New site name?
@Alastair: sorry, I didn't realise you had made it this far :D The house looks good! Colours are spot on. I think Hannes' previous suggestion:
a house, visually cut open to reveal a winding path/twisty little passages inside and probably a guy following such a passage holding a lantern?

Re: New site name?
1. People seem to agree that "solutionarchive.com" is a good domain name, and it's not part of the name you suggest.
These are two observations, but they don't combine into a clear objection. So I feel I have to ask: So?
I made a comment about this in a previous post. It seems to be fairly ...

Re: New site name?
Hi Pippa,
thanks for the input :) Appreciate it!
It's a clever name but I'm not too keen on it, I'm afraid - for a number of reasons:
1. People seem to agree that "solutionarchive.com" is a good domain name, and it's not part of the name you suggest.
2. It has the same problem as the current acronym ...

Re: New site name?
@Mr. Creosote: sounds like a good suggestion. Now all we need is an artist. I wish I had better graphical skills myself.
@iamaran: tricky indeed. I searched for options for a really long time.

Re: Screenshots resolution
Excellent notes. I can't recall any CPC releases at the higher rez, but I guess some of the Infocom titles might use it.
Thanks for the comment on the TRS-80 - I never could figure out what resolution to use. I will update the list accordingly.

Screenshots resolution
When screenshots are added to the archive, we try to keep them at their native resolution.
In order to handle the processing as quick as possible, if you want to upload a screenshot, please use the resolutions below (all are without borders) :)
Amiga: 640x400
Amstrad CPC: 320x200 / 640x400 ...

Re: New site name?
Thanks for the input, people.
So, if the domain name works well (it's clean and easy to remember), and we want to find a new backronym, what to do? As "solution archive" is part of the domain name, it might be worth keeping.

New site name?
"What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet."
I'll be the first to admit that our site's name is pretty dreadful and clumsy. I never had any great aspirations for the site, so the name was sort of slapped-on as an afterthought. We've come a very long way ...
