Re: Escape from Raka Tua

Sounds great! That reminds me that I need to finish the map and write up the solution for Treasure of Dead Man's Cay. I should also upload some Q&A I did with Brian Betts.

For a second there I thought you were saying something really nasty ;) I guess the word "polyglot" doesn't appear nearly often enough in adventure games.

Thanks, Alex, for assisting with these games!

Re: Duplicate Entries

Well, nobody can say that we are not handling our games with the utmost care. Great work, gentlemen :)
(For the record, my family and I are all down with the flu, so my attendance in here is spotty at best for a couple more days).

Re: Vacation Gone Awry

I thought the backstory was quite interesting, so I added the majority of it :)

As to the other "Stranded" - which one is it? We have one in our database, but IFDB lists another one. Also from 2001, also written in TADS but with a different author and no mention of the IF Comp.

Re: Duplicate Entries

Well spotted!
Some notes:
- Ship of Doom: the 1995 came from WoS, but I don't know if they've deleted it since, because there's not a trace of it on their site.
- Sphere of Q'li (what an odd name, anyway!): the alternate title was actually straight from the horse's mouth. Maybe he remembers it wrong ...

Re: Smartphones

If anyone's interested, I ended up with an LG Optimus One, running Android 2.2
I got it yesterday and installed Twisty right away. Works like a charm! So there's endless entertainment on the subway to and from work. I wonder how many mornings with icy-cold fingers it'll take me to get through ...

Re: Any French Speakers on here?

It's not a problem - I was merely trying to explain why it was difficult to identify. Sometimes multiple-choice games and simple strategy games look somewhat alike, and I'd rather not include the latter.

Re: Any French Speakers on here?

I've uploaded screenshots for three of the four games, and they look positively adventure-like to me. The fourth one, La Caverne des Morlocks, looks a little more shaky . I have a hunch that it might simply be a multiple-choice game.

Btw, where the *bleep* did you locate the Alice? I've never ever ...

Re: Duplicate Entries

As you can see from these screenshots version 1.0c http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-400-800-xl-xe-mozgprocesor_20670.html was released in 1990 and 1.0d http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-400-800-xl-xe-mozgprocesor_3564.html in 1991, so who knows when version 1.0a or 1.0 was released?
We'll ...

Re: Duplicate Entries

All entries have been fixed.
"Mozg Procesor" 1808 and 3146 need to be merged. Although the Atari version is apparently written in BASIC, and I assume Krzysztof Piwowarczyk converted the game to the Quill for the Spectrum.
The only issue is that the Spectrum version was apparently released two ...

I'll ask him :) I talked to him last year so I'll dig out his address.
