Well, thanks in particular to Mr. Creosote who's doing the lion's share of the work!
As for bugs, new features are added now and then, so sooner or later there's bound to be something that's out of order :) (For the record, he just added support for game series - a la Jewels of Darkness and the Zork ...

Merry Christmas

Yes, some of us nordic Heathens celebrate Christmas on the 24th, so I thought I'd better get started before family obligations got the better of me :)

Merry Christmas to all of you! I hope that Santa has some exciting new...erm.... old games for you this season. Happy gaming during the holidays!

Things aren't made any easier by the fact that yours truly keep asking for new features :) But I think you'll all find that it is worth the wait. I really look forward to launch.

Hi Buckweed, there are different ways of getting other users up to speed, and yours is just one of them.

Personally, I see things a bit differently than Terri, as I prefer struggling with the game myself until I am hopelessly stuck, rather than being given all the information up front. So I'm ...

I think all games in this section (give or take a few) are for Inform or TADS. Theatre is for Inform and can be picked up in lots of places. For instance the IFDB.

I think the the doors are just a red herring - at any rate you don't need to do anything with them to get started.

First off, go through the wide doors and locate a couple of items, then enter the dark area and try to keep yourself from getting killed :)

Plissken, you're welcome :) I'd like to see a walkthrough of your game so far, as the vocabulary leaves something to be desired, and I don't think I'll have a lot of patience with it.

Hey, Severed Heads - I remember that one :D Fairly neat game.

Terri,
if you can wait a few hours, I'll have the time to send you some info on how to get up and running.

Plissken, how far into the game are you at this point?

Actually, I'm a lazy lad, so I tend to map directly into Visio. I really love watching the map grow and grow and knowing that I won't have to transfer it from paper afterwards :)

Corel is another option, but if people want to go with open source, Open Office Draw is actually pretty good for maps.

The synopsis ought to be fairly simple, and other than that, your best guess as to the genre of a game is as good as the next person's :)

Yes, it's kinda difficult to come up with a fresh design. Then again, I'm not a designer, so I'm mostly aiming for functionality. Hence sites tend to look much ...

Thanks for the replies so far. Let me see if I can give a reply that covers all of you :)

@Mark (and Terri):
More work? Yes and no. Basic maintenance, such as updating of data and uploading of new solutions/maps should be a lot easier. But the model also allows for a lot more information on each ...

A new site?

CASA has been around for ten years now, and I believe it's time to do something more with it. After much complaining and moaning, site users David Lodge and Mr. Creosote have very graciously offered to lend a hand with the site's further development.

Why a new site?
I think that, between all ...
