Re: Crown of Mardan (BBC)

Finished!

I'll post a solution, etc., soon, but in the meantime I'll leave you with the hint 'green, white, red, black.'

Re: Crown of Mardan (BBC)

I've dealt with the red dragon. The diamond remains a problem.

Re: Crown of Mardan (BBC)

I've made some progress with Pernod's compilation disc version (see above for the link).

After the barge trip re-visit the general store, now that you are armed you should make some progress. However combat appears random so save the game before entering dangerous locations. Due to the nature of ...

Re: Crown of Mardan (BBC)

Aran (iamaran) has discovered a version of Crown of Mardan that appears bug free. It is on the compilation disc Adventure Games Vol. 6 by Pernod.

Re: Holy Horrors

There appears to have been some file permission issues with some of the smilies - which I struggled with for quite some time yesterday, because the server kept caching the old, faulty images.
Well, it's Friday and everything appears to be working again. With the result that my previous message now ...

I haven't played the game, but if there is nothing in the safe then perhaps you have to put something (or yourself) in there instead.

Re: Holy Horrors

I know that you lose points by pressing the button, but only about 25 so I don't know what you did Jacob!
Wow, I set a record for least number of points in a completed game. Now everybody's intrigued :)
Write up a solution ;) Further testing shows that outside of the forest maze you lose a point ...

Re: Holy Horrors

There, I just finished it as well. Pretty much in the least number of moves. Final score: 19

I presume the max is 100, but I won't pretend that I have any clue as to how it is calculated.
Still, it's very nice finally being able to check this one off after so many years! I know that you lose ...

Re: Holy Horrors

@Alastair: I've searched the secret room thoroughly - unless this is another guess-the-word puzzle (like OPEN SESAME) I think the holder must be somewhere else. Yes, it is another guess-the-word puzzle and I had to check Alex's solution to discover the phrase. It's pretty obvious when you think ...

Re: Holy Horrors

Fantastic work Alex, from your map are you stating that the candle holder is in the secret room? Also, have you found any use for the button?

Re: Where to find trs-80 BASIC adventures (no disk images).

About the only place where I have found TRS-80 adventures is the IF-Archive but I think that everything there is a disc image. It may be possible to use a disc image tool to extract a program, but whether-or-not the interpreter you mention will be able to use an extracted program is not something I ...

Re: M25!

Is a game like Conan Kill Everything a "joke" game? Sure, it's pretty much a one-trick pony, (= a joke) but it's fun and has a few genuine puzzles, which might take it more into straight parody territory.
I don't know as I haven't (yet) played it, but is it a joke at the expense of text adventures ...
