Re: Brian Howarth and the final Mysterious Adventures

Lone Survivor starts off in a spaceship whereas in the pages I posted above for After the Fire it states that you start the game inside a mountain. If you look at the descriptions for Midwinter , After the Fire , and Beyond the Infinite you can see they have a common theme of a post-apocalypse ...

Re: Brian Howarth and the final Mysterious Adventures

World of Spectrum has Brian Howarth's permission to distribute his games, see http://www.worldofspectrum.org/infoseekpub.cgi?regexp=%5EBrian+Howarth$. So they must have had contact with him at one time, and perhaps they know Brian's current whereabouts.

P.S. I have a Mysterious Adventures booklet ...

Perhaps you don't need the quotes, do any of the following work?
OLD DSK1
OLD DSK1 progname
OLD DSK1.progname

Looking at http://www.99er.net/basicref.html it appears that you use OLD to load programs! The logic defies me.

Re: Genre Suggestions

Since I still can't think of a better genre name than "Multiple Player Characters" I have added "MPC" (for reasons of length) and an explanation of MPC to the site.
I just had a thought, Alastair. Does this cover games such as Knight Orc and Scape Ghost, where many of the puzzles are based on ...

Re: What games should we include?

I would not include interactive books such as Portal or ZorkQuest because you cannot change the outcome of the story. The interaction changes how you perceive the story, perhaps the order in which you read things or changes the character through which an event is witnessed, but never-the-less the ...

Re: M25!

As far as I'm concerned M25! is intended as a joke adventure, it's not a very good joke but it still qualifies as a text adventure.

Re: X-Men

Does anyone know how much merit there was to the claim that a whopping 12 games were planned? It seemed quite ambitious. Were any additional titles announced? It seems a legitimate claim, read the third paragraph in the yellow box on this page from Micro Adventurer ftp://ftp.worldofspectrum.org/pub ...

X-Men

There used to be a site called the Scott Adams IBM PC Archive where you could download an incomplete PC DOS version of X-Men , this site has disappeared.

There are no graphics in this version, because the graphics were never created, and I'm not sure how much of the adventure can be completed. Does ...
