Re: Classic adventure-help required (Amsoft/Abersoft version

I've played and completed the tape image that is available at cpc-power.com, though the score remains at 150. All I did was enter the "Vast Hall stretching forward out of sight to the west" and I was transported to the end game, no need to type "score" or go SW.

Update
I've now tried the disc ...

Re: Classic adventure-help required (Amsoft/Abersoft version

Al, which platform version of the game are you playing and where did you obtain it?

Re: Classic adventure-help required (Amsoft/Abersoft version

Do the treasures need to be collected in a specific order>
Al. I haven't played this particular version but if it is like the versions of Colossal Cave that I have played then the treasures can be collected in any order (with the exception of the pillow and the vase, and the other occasions where ...

Re: Classic adventure-help required (Amsoft/Abersoft version

Hello there!

There are a couple of solutions on the game's entry page http://solutionarchive.com/game/id%2C79 ... ure+1.html. I am not sure if they will give you all of the answers that you require but E. Yoong's solution says that you will end up with a score of 10350 out of 210 !

Re: vz200 Dracula's castle

If all "exotic" non-text adventures were slavishly removed, the site would lose solutions to timeless classics such as Maniac Mansion and the old AD&D RPG's. After all, it's CASA, not CTASA ("Classic Text Adventure Solution Archive") .
That may be the case but from Alex's description this ...

Re: Alice and the March Hare - Tatung Einstein

Alex, thanks for your input, I guess I will have to try everything I can think of in the original cup location.
Did either of you manage to enter the river? I don't think it is very important but somehow you should be able to enter the river and drown without using the boat. No, I haven't managed ...

iD is not a text adventure

iD (http://solutionarchive.com/game/id%2C646/iD.html) is a puzzle wrapped up in an AI program and not a text adventure, therefore it should be removed.

Re: Alice and the March Hare - Tatung Einstein

Was it inside the cup, as that message suggests?
It appears to be. The starting location of the ring is the same as the cup. The cup is a visible object (has value 1) and the ring isn't (has value 0) just like the coin for instance (when an object has value 2 it is in your inventory). You have to ...

Re: Alice and the March Hare - Tatung Einstein

Alex, regarding the number of locations do you count the locations where the description can change (e.g., the haystack/burnt out haystack location) as one or two locations?

Re: Alice and the March Hare - Tatung Einstein

I never used MESS before. Is it possible to save your game? Pressing shift+F7 doesn't seem to work. I found that I couldn't save the state in the latest version so I went back to an earlier version (0.140). Even then, when 'starting up' the Einstein I have to run "Alice" and wait until the text ...

Re: Alice and the March Hare - Tatung Einstein

Have you noticed that there seems to be another map or something similar? Look at the game with an editor and you'll see that right above the already found map indicating the location of one of the treasures there is another one that says "It is marked". It seems to give the location of the dungeon ...

Yes, I have noticed that "climb" and "read" both appear in the disc image but that neither seems to be accepted.

Re: Alice and the March Hare - Tatung Einstein

I've made more progress by discovering that the location text does not always tell you what is in a location, to find out you sometimes need to use HELP (or just plain H). Doing this at the river bank reveals that a boat is nearby. SAIL BOAT takes you to a location containing two useful items, one ...

Re: Alice and the March Hare - Tatung Einstein

Juan, how far are you into this game? So far I have managed to find one treasure, and like you I have had no success with the cup. I have a few of questions which you may be able to answer.

First, apart from the dead end in the tunnel under the road and the northern most dungeon cell, is there ...

Re: Do you know anything about the history of these games?

I think it's odd because - according to Grant - both versions were substantially rewritten from the earlier C64 & Dragon versions. Hence I'd expect them to share names. Is Grant saying that the Spectrum version of the Cricklewood Incident is substantially different from the Dragon version? I cannot ...
