Potcheen, is a traditional Irish distilled, highly alcoholic beverage (60%-95%) [Got this from wikipedia I also didn't know this :) ].
That's an unusual spelling, I'm more familiar with poteen - the word that is, not the actual drink

That's part of the reason as to why I posted here rather than just going ahead and creating the genres. This way everyone can contribute to the discussion.

Re: Genre Suggestions

So should escapes from imprisonment and escapes from planets (which are usually a science fiction version of "stuck on island") be given their own genre tags? Also, should planet and island escape be put in the same genre?

As for putting the synopsis and game notes in the same field. A simple way ...

Genre Suggestions

Here are a couple of genre ideas that I have had which may warrant some discussion.

The first is the "Stuck on island" genre. This genre describes games where the main theme is that you have to escape an island, but there are many games where you need to escape some confinement other than an island ...

Re: Spectrum Adventures

Zenobifan (and everyone else),
if you are moving on to a new game could you please start a new topic for that game so that we have one thread per adventure. Thanks.

(I will now attempt to insert the words "Ace in the Hole" into this thread's title, wish me luck!)

Re: Missing in Action

We can live in hope that they will eventually turn up. Who knows, perhaps someone going through this site will find that they own a game that is missing in action and then do the decent thing of creating an image of the game and send the image to the appropriate site.

But the main reason for ...

Re: playing games on a mac

World of Spectrum lists some Spectrum emulators at http://www.worldofspectrum.org/emulators.html#mac. I have no idea which is best but your friend should go for a Spectrum emulator that can handle the TZX file format.

Re: What happened to Lantern of D'Gamma

Billy,
we know that the answer to the shaped buttons puzzle is BFGIL because Angus hacked the disk, the problem is that we never worked out why the answer is BFGIL.

The attached picture shows the problem.

Re: What happened to Lantern of D'Gamma

Billy,
how did you work out the solution to the shaped buttons puzzle? Is this one of those puzzles that requires additional material that comes in the game's box?

Re: Out of Date Emulator Links

Oricutron at http://code.google.com/p/oriculator/ is an Oric emulator. There are MS-Windows (32-bit), MacOS X, AmigaOS 4.x, and MorphOS binaries available, plus the source code so it should be possible to compile it for other OSes. Therefore this may be a better Oric emulator than EuphORIC ...

Dragon Dungeon and Dungeon Software

Dragon Dungeon and Dungeon Software refer to the same company. The software company is called Dungeon Software whereas Dragon Dungeon was some sort of club for Dragon computer owners. I'll have to check to find out what the club did, but I do know that it started publishing programs under the ...

It's a web crawler that collects information about sites, this information is what Yahoo's search engine uses. Same with Google and Google [Bot] etc.
