Re: Starting guides for various platforms

This is my attempt at a Dragon guide. It's perhaps a bit on the long side, but then again when it comes to loading a game you can ignore the two irrelevant sections.

Types of Dragon

An unmodified Dragon 32 has 32 kiB of RAM, all other unmodified Dragons that were released - the Dragon 64, Dragon ...

Re: Starting guides for various platforms

My feeling on this matter is that there should be overviews on how to use various platforms (the target system in Mr. Creosote's terminology), but that more complicated matters and emulator specific issues would best be served by people asking for help in a new forum on the board.

Re: Deliverer 1

I know what I need to give Rydla. I now have 440 points.

However, I still cannot get the balloon to inflate. Even if I drop everything but the balloon, the cylinder, and the magnet.

I'm going to need something very specific here. I am stuck.
How did you get the scissors if you cannot inflate the ...

Re: Deliverer 1

I've finally discovered the story behind the Deliverer games, but since it requires a lot of messing about with emulator options I'll save everyone the trouble and post the relevant images here.

OK my next question will be better I hope.
Don't worry about it. It took me an absolute age to work that one out.

Re: Deliverer 1

Just keep examining the junk heap near the beginning (BTW the component required to fix the robot seems to be random, the same with the room and combination numbers).

Re: Deliverer 1

I've been meaning to get around to this game, I suppose that now I'd better get to it! :D

First off, have you fixed the Hovvabug? You need the Hovvabug to tell you the room and combination numbers - the Hovvabug's a bit like the Tidybot from the second game in this respect. You can also enter the ...

Just the simple addition of the game's ID number beside the game's title should be enough to help.

Re: Games with the same name.

I have now added TRS-80 Haunted House to the site, but I will point out that it can be a little confusing when adding a link as you are faced with a number of titles with the same name. Is there a way to modify the add game link drop down list which will help us differentiate games with the same ...

Games with the same name.

How does the site handle games with the same name, as I take it that http://solutionarchive.com/game/id,250/ and http://www.figmentfly.com/hauntedhouse/ ... house.html are not the same game?

Re: Real-time games

Real time is not limited to NPCs, there are adventures where other aspects of the game's world will continue without player interaction. For example in Madness and the Minotaur the lamp burns oil in real time and as this rather interesting page shows http://computerarcheology.com/madness/madness ...

Re: New site - bug reports

Eek! that's nasty, something weird is definitely going up with the list. As a workaround, if you remove the platform (in this case it's not a problem as there is only one platform), then it works okay.
Well I see you've already done that, but I hope you don't mind me removing your name from the ...

Re: BUG: Clicking on games in Your queued submissions broken

Hey,

Think I've spotted another funny - if I click on the Your queued submissions page, and then try to click through to any of the games listed, I get:

Access denied!
Sorry, but it doesn't look like your user account is allowed to access this page.

Re: Fixed games

Why not simply include the game file with the instructions? That way, no new file type will be needed. People can then apply the bug fix themselves. Because in this instance I don't know how to create a new game file, I know only how to modify the program once it has been loaded by the computer or ...
