Re: Quest [Roger Chaffee]

Continuing to log some other versions, as identified by Jason Dyer in https://bluerenga.blog/2024/12/09/schatzoeken-1982/

i.e. the Dutch adaptations; Schatzoeken .

The first Dutch version, by Hans Pennings was for the P2000 and dates to at least as early as 1982. It has some changes to the game ...

Adventure Caves / ComputerMat Adventure

Also on my to-do list (making a list so I don't forget) is sorting out another potential ComputerMat rip-off.

Namely, this Adventure

Quest [Roger Chaffee]

Following up from a comment on Jason Dyer's blog (https://bluerenga.blog/2024/11/26/1982-the-final-stretch/#comment-102310) I notice that we have various unofficial ports of Roger Chaffee's 1978 game Quest listed as separate entries in the database.

I'll be going through and at least linking the ...

Schatzoeken

Jason's latest All the Adventures target will probably be of interest to our Dutch contingent...

Especially as he makes reference to a cache of P2000 games at https://github.com/p2000t/software/tree/master/cassettes/games

Seems like we probably ...

Re: North Star Games

Whembly Castle was never a Dynacomp release

The game is listed for sale in multiple Dynacomp catalogues for the North Star (Horizon). It's also listed as being sold by Dynacomp in the Software Encyclopaedias for the IBM PC and Apple II.

All the games you've mentioned are listed in the Dynacomp ...

I've reattached the systems to The Beast (of Torrack Moor).

So great to see that this issue seems to be fixed. I guess we can get back to catching up on the backlog now. :)

Re: Title and in game music in text adventures

Relatively few, thankfully.

It tends to be ones from the labels more known for arcade or action titles; The Neverending Story by Ocean, for example.

Fred Gray did the music for both that and Hunchback; but I think Hunchback's music was limited to the initial title screen/load.

Re: Scott Adams graphical adventures. S.A.G.A

To add to the confusion, though, Scott himself was using that "grand adventures" variant for years as a moniker for his more recent work (and as a term to describe his whole back catalogue) until he switched to releasing new games as Clopas.

Re: Tajemnica Carmen Strasse 35

I think it's more of a gamebook/choice game, rather than a text adventure; where you're just interacting with single key presses and the occasional code; which is something CASA doesn't generally add new entries about.

Re: T'was a Time of Dread - date issue

Yes, the 1991 date is a mistake (it should be 1992) but sadly, like any changes to entries at the moment, it can't be updated without losing other data from the entry. The Unborn One is also incorrect, as that should have a 1991 date.

Technically I think all the games in that series were actually ...
