Re: Catacombs

I did make a small error there  . Awake in Cornucopia isn't Awake, but wake. So there are only three verbs unique for Catacombs.

Yes, I had the same idea for the remaining three verbs. I didn't use defile yet.

Re: Cornucopia

Are your initial findings that it is as tough as Catacombs?

I walked through all the rooms just to prepare the mapping. I think this one is quite hard. I encountered some interesting puzzles, solved some, but most of them I didn't try yet. One of the first things you have to do is find ...

Re: Cornucopia

I compared the verbs from Catacombs with Cornucopia:

These verbs are only in Catacombs:
defile
stamp
swim

These verbs are only in Cornucopia:
burn
carry
crap
cremate
incinerate
out
shit
singe
tvqrex

The rest of the verbs are the same.

tvqrex transports you to another room. xerqvt (the reverse ...

Re: Cornucopia

Uka wrote: Tue Nov 23, 2021 1:28 pm It would be much easier to play it with your map
Yes, I always start with a map that gives you an idea of which direction to go and it also ensures that you don't overlook a location.

This one has 175 rooms and 204 objects.

This one seems to include the use of magic spells.

Re: Cornucopia

This one appears to be a lot bigger. Will take some hours to map it, but no problem :)
And a lot more objects.
I'm not playing it yet, but just gave it a quick look  .

Re: Catacombs

Apart from the few problems that remain unsolved. Catacombs wasn't that hard and was actually quite fun to play. It reminded me of playing Horror Hotel (PC) also a long and complex, but solvable game.

If you really want to play a hard game you should try Demoniak (Amiga/Atari/PC) or The Galleon ...

Re: Western Adventure (Hungarian c64 game)

I still have the following problems to solve:

*** Apache camp ***

-When you enter the Apache camp you are given bow and arrows and you have to use them to shoot some straw puppets.

The game gives the following hint:
“NE FELEJTS EL CÉLOZNI, KAPASZKODNI ÉS FÉLREUGRANI”
Unfortunately I didn’t ...

Western Adventure (Hungarian c64 game)

Today I decided to play Western Adventure . It looked interesting and had been on the list of games I wanted to play for a long time. The biggest problem was it is written in Hungarian and I don't speak a word of the language :), but I decided to give it a try anyway. I started with making an ...

Re: Catacombs/Cornucopia

Hello Alex

My session of Catacombs crashed a couple of days ago too. I have found that downloading DOSBox-X is better. The screen looks cleaner, you can create and also mount a floppy drive to save multiple game states and it doesn't crash the game either. It's a shame that there seems to be a ...

Re: Catacombs/Cornucopia

that sounds very unusual. I can't think of another text adventure that doesn't have some form of congratulatory or valedictory message at the end. Infidelhas a strange ending of course but you can still bring closure to the game.

Unfortunately it isn't , I've played several games where there is ...

Re: Catacombs/Cornucopia

I also already tried that, but I was more thinking of doing it in combination with an object. I tried several other things yesterday, but I'm afraid I have no idea how to solve the last puzzles.

It seems that there is no real end to the game. When you have put all the treasures on the altar and you ...

Re: Catacombs/Cornucopia

Still trying but without succes

A strange thing I noticed. There are 3 different lines in the text which may refer to the plug:

@You easily dislodge the *.
@With a little üÃyou dislodge the *.
@With some üÃyou manage to pull the ªout.

Does this imply there is more then one way to remove the ...

Re: Catacombs/Cornucopia

Thank you!

Unfortunately there is not a lot of text which gives a hint on what to do to to solve the last few problems. Apart from the things we already know like dislodging the plug and removing the web. I think I've tried to use all objects to stuck them to the web, but I did not succeed. There ...
