I have no idea where I got it, so I couldn't say.

Re: Missing Atari 8-bit titles
Guardian has an interesting history. From the meagre snippets I've been able to find, and a degree of conjecture, it sounds like it was originally written in Atari BASIC by Mark Stinson as 'Guardian' in 1992, submitted to New Atari User and rejected. This was probably unpublished.

Re: presserving newer titles by John Wilson
As John put in so much effort to get his own games updated and published in so many different formats for so many different platforms, I'm sure he would want his legacy to be preserved. The IF Archive would be a good place to do that. I suppose I should make the effort to download all his games ...

You're right. It must be a new feature.
It's only started happening in the last day or so.

Re: Missing Atari 8-bit titles
I can't swear to it, but I think the Atari Homesoft version of 'The Saga of Erik the Viking' may be buggy. I only played a little way into the game until I got to the kitchen. When I examined the stewpot, I got a blacked out image and a different set of exits, but most of those didn't work.

Re: Mission Adventure
It's from an article on how to write adventures by Michel Brassinne. It looks like it's worth translating. However, the version you're looking at is a revised version written many years later. You would have to compare the two versions to see the scope of the changes.

Re: Mission Adventure
The only games I'm aware of from Jeux & Stratégie are 'Nordal le Magicien' and 'La Route de Samarcande'. Both are role-playing games for the Amstrad CPC written by Michel Brassinne. I couldn't say whether 'Mission Aventure' is worth translating.

Re: Missing Atari 8-bit titles
Thanks for this. It was one that I was unaware of. It makes me wonder whether there are any other goodies tucked away in New Atari User. I've added an entry for the CASA database. I'm sure the admins will get around to it shortly.

You might be better off using Oricutron. In this case, you just right-click and load a disk image from the shortcut menu.

I haven't had any problem with gmail diverting emails to spam or junk. Perhaps you can whitelist the CASA emails.

Re: Writing in information for (my own) series?
It's not a silly question. I normally just write it out in plain text using the same format as used in other entries and leave it up to the admins to do the formatting. I think that's all you can do.

Re: Linking to outside walkthroughs?
I think it's a great idea. David Welbourn does fantastic walkthroughs. We can't copy his walkthroughs for copyright reasons, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind us linking to them. It might draw extra people to his site and may even get him some more Patreon supporters. David does a monthly report of new ...

Re: New retro IF game award
I think this is really important. If you have published a game in 2022 or you know of a game that was published in 2022, then you should add it to the CASA database as well as the IFDB database. The new IFDB awards will allow that game to get recogniton in the broader IF community and to allow ...
