Re: Ebony Tower - BBC
Juan, I presume you are serious about these questions and you are not just "pulling my leg".
Yes, I was dead serious. Somehow it had not occured to me to throw the table (I was actually trying to get on it, or jump on it, and things of that nature), so that's what had been keeping me stuck ...

Re: Ebony Tower - BBC
I know how to use the flute but haven't used it yet, since I cannot buy the carpet.
Do you have the gold? Or rather, have you made the gold? You need it in order to buy it. If you have, then PAY SALESMAN.
Found the rod, got past the gate.
Have you noticed that if you go back out you can't go ...

Ebony Tower - BBC
Anyone played this one?

Majorly stuck. Out of frustration, I took a look inside the game. It seems that in order to capture the mongoose you need a cage, and this item is given to you by some birds. The only birds around ...

Spectaculator is the best Spectrum emulator I have tried. The 5.30 release was the last free one:

Re: atahaulpa (BBC)
So we are there and stuck. We got the sols playing the trumpet. You can get in to see Don Pedro, but that appears to work only once.
You meet the murderous stranger again, see a dog entering a hole, a peasant steals anything you drop at the "cobbledstone area. Since WAIT was needed in Lee's other ...

Re: atahaulpa (BBC)
There are a few other objects to find here.
In the library, wait until a woman arrives. Then examine something.
OK, got it. I also found the cane and the arrowhead. Where is the shovel, though? I can't seem to find that. There is an adobe house that you can enter, but there doesn't seem to be ...

Re: atahaulpa (BBC)
I'm trying to get familiar with the game and its vocabulary/commands. So far I haven't been making much progress. Found the trumpet, and that's about it. I suppose you must get the Jules Verne book to the balloon pilot, but talking to the librarian doesn't seem to do anything, and the library ...

Re: Island of Artuan Adventure - kill siren??
OK, I have finally managed to get the bag of stolen goods from the thief. It's in the maze after you make him run away.
Finished the game with a 288 (maximum?) score, "this qualifies you as a master adventurer, grade 1"

OK, I figured out how to kill the skeleton with the crown: Throw dagger. That kills it. Now the only treasure I seem to be missing is the thief's sack.

Re: Island of Artuan Adventure - kill siren??
Playing this text adventure game (ca. 1982) from Sirius 1/Apricot, on Windows 98SE in MS-DOS.
Anybody know how to overcome the siren??
Anyone interested in playing (I can tell you where to get it free or find it on Google Groups) - and maybe beating me to the Orb of Power?
Hoping to hear from ...

Difficult games like this one, with rather illogical parts, deserve full walkthroughs.Mark wrote:Why not just write a hint sheet instead of a full walkthrough. You usually can do this from memory, and it's more fun for future players to have some guesswork left.

What I have been trying to do all this time is use the door as a raft, and tie myself to it with the rope, but I could not manage to push it. What line did you use? I have tried "push raft", "push door", "push edge", etc. but nothing worked.
You're going to kick yourself: PUSH OFF
