Re: Genre Suggestions

The problem with the current genres is that it mixes several concepts into the one grab bag. There should really be separate categories for where the game is set (city, country, planet etc.), when the game is set (year or period, past, present, future etc.), style of game (serious, humourous, murde...

Re: 8bitAG.com/info

Thanks - excellent info! I've nicked the Andy Lowe interview - or at least added a link to his profile. Very entertaining read :thumb:

Re: "The Classic Adventurer" magazine

Well, chalk that up to my distracted mind. I don't know why I've forgotten to post about TCA, because it's a great publication! Will give it a mention with the next update.

Re: Google adventure

Yes, Google.com (though it redirects me to our localized version - maybe that's the culprit). Looking in the dev console, and there's nothing happening. Oh well...

Re: Google adventure

Sounds fun but I can't get it to work - neither in FF nor in Chrome. I have tried searching for adventure game and text adventure in both browsers, but the console doesn't ask me if I want to play a game.

Very nice job! I've added the link to our TRS-80 MC-10 description page. Hopefully people interested in that platform will find something they like :)

Sure, I'll be happy to give it a go. Not sure if I'll have the patience to complete it, tho' :)

Re: Anyone know/remember this text adventure?

I seem to recall coming across it at some point, possibly registering it in our database. No guarantees, though!

Site problems

Hi folks, we have a case of an update gone wrong - the TL;DR of it is that the forum is finally back online. Logo not in place, but you can post all you want.
You can't log into the main site just yet, but don't worry, your data and all the information on the site itself are fine.

Re: Genre Suggestions

So.... right off the bat I'm not opposed to an Escape genre. It's a pretty neat idea. I'm just not entirely certain what it encompasses. A few examples to clarify what I mean: Asylum: you're trying to escape from an insane asylum. Clear enough. Any number of POW games: you're trying to flee from a P...

Thanks! Weird about the pond, I was on the right track and thought I had tried every variation of dumping the lime and throwing it AT the creature or the pond ;) As for the temple and workshop - arrgh! The parser understands both TEMPLE and WORKSHOP , and since there aren't any other around, why wou...
