Re: Adventure Challenge
No. I didn't even know there was such a game. That's weird. But it doesn't explain the other aspects of my picture, such as the green border.

No. But it's a great guess.Gunness wrote:Thanks for your work, Hannes!
Since there's no Third Man game in the database, I was thinking that
Shade (ie. a shade of green)
might fit the bill?
And you're on the right track thinking about The Third Man.

Re: Intercom Games on CP/M 2.2 running with RUN.COM Interpre
Did you download NewBrain Emulator v2.64Beta13 which is available from the Newbrain website. This is a resent addition and includes in the Options before starting the NB Emulator a button to click for the English Keyboard. No, I went for the highest non-Beta one. (Sorry, I don't remember the number...

Re: Another Classic Ported to TRS-80 MC-10
You are correct the Orient Express actually departed from Calais, France. The connection from Victoria track 14 is just a connection to get the Ferry to Calais to pick up the Orient Express. I will modify the NewBrain program version to incorporate this. Simplon Orient Express 1939 This is the summ...

Re: Adventure Challenge
Folks, seriously. If you would be so kind to pay attention what I put in the top right corner of the hint picture. Even if the whole rest remains cryptic, this alone returns a list of only four games on CASA. Would be easy enough to guess from there if anyone were still playing. I got a bit obsesse...

Re: Listing for Orient Express adventure on the NewBrain
I've been looking back through some of the older posts in this thread, and I noticed this in the Orient Express game: Program Listing for NewBrain Computer: 450 PRINT "THE TAXI HAS DROPPED YOU AT VICTORIA STATION IN LONDON." 460 PRINT "THE ORIENT EXPRESS IS STANDING MAJESTICALLY ON TRACK 14." Track ...

Re: Intercom Games on CP/M 2.2 running with RUN.COM Interpre
OK. Sounds interesting. I went over there and downloaded the emulator. (I'm just a sucker for anything Z80 related!.) Gotta admit, I'm having trouble getting it working properly, probably because I don't know enough about the NewBrain to know what I'm doing. (It doesn't help that the keyboard mapper...

Re: Intercom Games on CP/M 2.2 running with RUN.COM Interpre
You're running them on a CP/M emulator? Er... Why not just run the PC versions of the game directly? Or even use something like Frotz? Either way, it's gotta be a lot simpler, right...? I mean, they're still the same games no matter what you use to run them.

Re: Other Intercom Games ...
There were other Infocom games but these were mainly Graphic with Text and were not intended for CP/M. Yes, but even the later text games weren't released on CP/M. I think they upgraded the Z-Machine specification (would it be Z5?) and CP/M wasn't powerful enough to handle it, or maybe it just wasn...

Re: Intercom Games on CP/M 2.2 running with RUN.COM Interpre
AIUI some of the later Infocom games couldn't run on CP/M, or at least were never released for it. I'm not sure which ones, but IIRC they were from roughly somewhere about from AMFV onwards.

Re: Mystery of Silver Mountain
Thanks for the information on Roman Adventure book which I have now downloaded. Has anyone got a text listing of the program in so I can convert to NewBrain. The listing is in the pdf book that I linked too. Unfortunately, you can't copy and paste the listing from the pdf. (Well, you can, but that ...

Re: Mystery of Silver Mountain
Thanks for the link to the Osborne book for Mystery of Silver Mountain. Have put it on my list to convert to NewBrain Basic. I have already converted many text adventures to NewBrain Basic and they all run on the amazing NewBrain Emulator. If you're looking for more games to convert, try Roman Adve...

Re: Another Classic Ported to TRS-80 MC-10
OK. Thanks.
The ZX81 version of Planet of Death was the first adventure I ever played. I've got fond memories of it, but not very clear or accurate ones, so I don't actually remember what all the differences were.
