I decided to play Cranston Manor Adventure on the Atari, but I noticed it's the same game as Cranston Manor. The locations are mapped a little different than the Apple and the PC version but the puzzles are the same.

I also noted that the game on this site is listed as hi-res adventure #5, but the box image I've uploaded from the pc version states it's #3.

I'm not certain I agree, if you look at the advert linked to on the page at Atarimania, it advertises it, written by Larry Ledden (although it could be a clone) and also for CP/M and lNorth Star(??). Unfortunately I can't get any of the disk images I can find to boot on Atari800win plus so I can't dig more.

Aha! A bit of digging found this. This includes a statement from the author: the Atari version is the original and the Sierra version is licensed!

So it wasn't actually written by the Sierra guys!

I did play the disk image from atarionline.pl with Altirra 1.7 without any problem.

I found out the problem on atari800win plus is that it disables BASIC by default and as this game is written in BASIC, it needs that ROM.
