Well, actually I've already hacked the disk and found the code used on the buttons are BFGIL. Now how I was supposed to get that, I don't know.
Where are these buttons found?

Those numbers on the map also seem useless for navigating the mist, but, I navigated the mist anyway, and found a combination lock that the numbers aren't useful to either. I had to hack the disk for that combination also. Now that I've run out of hacks, I don't know what I'm supposed to do next.
I had been able to figure out one number of the combination lock. See, one of those notes that crumble and disappear after you read them says that one of the characters is a quarter of a century old, that's 25, so I suspected that's how you were supposed to guess these numbers for the lock. But the other notes I found (8 so far) are not very enlightening in this regard, so I was forced to "cheat" and take a look at the combination number from inside the game program. I opened the stable's lock, got the shovel and then, after some tedious mapping of the "mist maze", I found a wooden chest ("256
Chestinfield Road", get it?) I am currently at 72% score.
Did you figure out what those 6 numbered doors upstairs from the large hallway are for? You can knock on them, but you can't enter or go through them (at least not with the usual commands.)
