It took me 10 hours of non stop playing but I found the necklace!!! . Unfortunately there is some magic spell on it and I can't take it. It's rather late now. Will look further one of these days.

Solved the game. I will write a walkthrough tonight.

Just uploaded the walkthrough. The necklace is located in the secret room of the temple (west of the start location). Type MOVE ALTAR to find it.

Well done Alex. It's one of those games where you have to move/climb/look at/look up/look down/swim/etc. almost everywhere in order to find that one elusive place where something happens, so I salute your perseverance.

Your too kind but actually I did find the necklace without cheating, it was the stone tablet I couldn't find......and which made me decode the entire game to locate it . Fortunately the stone tablet wasn't needed to solve the game but I wanted to find all the objects.
