Demoniak (PC, Amiga and Atari ST)

Did anyone try to solve this game or does anyone want to give it a try? I actually recovered an original pc version of the game when I was cleaning up my attic several weeks ago. I bought it way back when I was still a student at the university. I didn't get very far then so I gave it another try. I did make some progress but am quite stuck now. I searched the internet but couldn’t find any hints.

-With the ticket Mary Penthouse gave me I was able to enter the warehouse. Mary told me to destroy the sources of evil inside the warehouse. I guess she means I have to find some way to stop the music playing. Does anyone know how to do this?

-Did anyone solve the puzzle with the steam generator inside the powerhouse?

-Did anyone find the entrance to the cave underneath the planet of Freezyassov ?

-Does anyone know what’s the use of posting the letter from the clerk?

-What to do with sleeping beauty?

-How to get rid of the skeleton?

The game is copy protected. The Amiga version I found on the internet has been cracked and can be played without a problem. I have included the security words in case anyone prefers to play the pc version.

I seems that I got a message that you hadn't entered in your list.

I don't think this is a "user-friendly" game. Stuff only happens when you type LOOK. WAIT brings you several turns ahead. When it tells me to <look at picture> it bumps me automatically to a full screen, which I don't much like.

I read a review where it said you can switch characters, but I haven't tried to do that. Nor do I know how to do that. There also appear to be random elements, such as around the guard, where you appear to lose points (sometimes).

A tad too complex for me, and I've gotten nowhere near where you are. I can't even get through the door.

At the beginning of the game you first have to listen to the information Dr Cortex tells you. You can do this by typing look several times. Make sure meanwhile every teammember takes one of the guns and communicators (BECOME CORTEX, TEAM "TAKE COMMUNICATOR" etc). Follow Dr Cortex untill he tells you (being Sirrius) to assume command. Don't forget to read the mission plan Cortex has in his possession.

You have to BECOME character to do this.

I agree this is a very complex game. But it's different and challenging. Most actions seem to have some pattern instead of being random. However because of the amount of characters interacting with each other the game gets very complicated sometimes.

Below a list of the verbs:

Demoniak VERB list

AGAIN
Repeat the last instruction.

ASK character "speech"
Used for asking questions to other characters.

Equivalent to ATTACK. Can be cancelled with:

Instructs your character to look for something. This will continue over subsequent turns, and is cancelled by STOP FINDING place/object/character

FLEE (dir)

To flee from a fight.

Makes your character follow somebody. He/she will therefore move of their own accord until you cancel with:

To express your dismay or anger.

HUG character
To show your affection towards a character.

JUMP
Too obvious to mention. Examples:

KILL character (WITH object)
Similar to ATTACK but with the specific intention of killing your opponent.

KNOCK ON object
Examples:
KNOCK ON CELL DOOR KNOCK ON CUPBOARD

LAND ON planet
Command available only to Proteus. Example:

LAUGH (speech)
Related Commands: CRY, MOAN, SHOUT

LIGHT object (WITH object)
To set something alight. Flame can do this when she's burning, or you could use a torch.
Related Commands:
BURN

LOAD
To restore a saved game.
Other Forms:
RESTORE
Related Commands:
SAVE

LOCK object (WITH object)
To lock an object using a key. If you only have one key then
LOCK object
is sufficient.
Example:
LOCK THE CUPBOARD

LOOK
Look around at the current location. Repeats the description seen when you first entered, as well as the objects and characters present.

QUICKLOOK

LOOK direction
Shows you the people in a neighbouring location. Very useful

LOOK AT character/object
Another form of EXAMINE.

LOOK INTO/ON object
EXAMINE objects that are in or on other objects.

LOOK FOR character/object/place
Alternative form of FIND.

MAKE object
Useful for completing the game

MAKE HOLE IN object
Make a hole in something.
Example:
MAKE A HOLE IN THE WALL Delated Commands:

MELT object (WITH object)
Melt an object using something hot.

MINDREAD character
To reveal the location and activities of another character.Only Sondra has the psychic power to do this. Cancel with: STOP MINDREADING (character)

MOAN (speech)
A variation on CRY.

NOD (HEAD TO character)
Equivalent to replying 'yes' to a question.

To open a container, book or door.

OPEN THE BOTTLE

PICK UP object/character
A form of GET where the desired object is not being carried by anybody else.

PLAY game/object
A rather specialised command for playing games or musical instruments!

POST object
To send a letter. You should only post letters of course.
Example:
POST THE LETTER

POUR liquid (ON/OVER/INTO object)
To empty the liquid out of a container or to pour it into another. The total weight of the containers and liquid are correctly adjusted. Examples:
POUR WINE INTO GLASS
POUR ACID ON THE FLOOR

PRESS object
Well ... let's just say that some things need to be touched.

PRESS ON OBJECT

PULL object/character (direction)
The opposite of PUSH.

Save the current game so that you can start at the same place next time.

Sleeping recharges your stamina. Obviously, you should choose your place with care. Icy wastes are not a good idea!

Cancels a previous 'on-going' command.
Examples:

Allows wizard to teleport an object or person from where ever they are in the game. Some things he won't be able to manage,and the whole process is rather tiring.

SUPERBRIEF
Equivalent to GO INTO SUPERBRIEF MODE.

SWITCH object ON/OFF
Used for switches.
Other Forms:
SWITCH ON/OFF object TURN ON/OFF object

SWITCH GRAPHICS/PRINTER ON/OFF
Set options. SWITCH OFF GRAPHICS will mean that pictures will never be displayed. SWITCH ON PRINTER sends a copy of the screen text to the printer.

TURN GRAPHICS/PRINTER ON/OFF GRAPHICS ON/OFF
PRINTER ON/OFF
Examples:
SWITCH GRAPHICS ON
TURN OFF THE PRINTER

TAKE object
Another form of GET.

Only spaceships can do this. Example:

TELL character "speech"
Directly equivalent to SAY TO. Use the short form:
character "speech"
to save typing.
Examples:

TELL character ABOUT item
Normally you will be using this as a request:
CORTEX "TELL ME ABOUT WARP"
but you can use it to reveal information to another character:

TOUCH object
Normally, this acts the same as PRESS. But it has a special use if you are blind or in a dark location.
Examples:
TOUCH HANDPAD
Related Commands: PRESS

TURN
See SWITCH.

UNLOCK object (WITH object) To unlock a container or door.
Related Commands:
LOCK

USE weapon
It you are engaged in combat and have a powerful weapon, then use it.
Examples:
USE THE STICK
Related Commands:
FIGHT, KILL, ATTACK

USE object TO action
Use an object to facilitate a normal command.
Examples:
USE STICK TO BREAK THE CUPBOARD USE A GUN TO KILL CORTEX
USE COMMUNICATOR TO TELL GOR "FIND ME"

VERBOSE
Equivalent to GO INTO VERBOSE MODE.

WAIT
A very useful command. It means that you miss subsequent turns while your character is controlled by the computer. For example, if you don't wish to aim every single blow in a fight then simply ATTACK your opponent then WAIT to see how things turn out. To cancel WAIT just type a new command.There will be a delay while the current turn is finished. Also useful when FINDing or FOLLOWing.

WAKE chr
To try to awaken somebody who is asleep. Characters sleep when fatigued (ie. low stamina) and will not awaken until they have recovered.

CAST SLEEPING SPELL

WAKE UP
What to attempt if YOU fall asleep. Related Commands:
SLEEP

WAVE object
Equivalent to SHAKE.

WEAR object
To put on an item of clothing. Related Commands:
REMOVE

WEIGH object/character
Reveals the weight of an object or person. Related Commands:
INVENTORY

WHAT IS character/object/item
A question to ask somebody. Equivalent to: TELL ME ABOUT character/object/item Example:
CORTEX "WHAT IS DEMONIAK?'

WHIP character
To fight dirty.
Related Commands: HIT

WHERE IS character/object
A question to ask somebody. Remember Sondra has psychic powers and Madlok has magic.
Examples:

A question you might ask somebody.

YELL

I started playing this game again. Today I've uploaded a map and a list of all the characters. I discovered a few more things but I'm still far from completing this very difficult game.

Today I've uploaded a list of all the objects (138) and their locations at the beginning of the game. The hexnumbers of the locations refer to the numbers on my map. Now all the locations, characters and objects have been mapped the only thing left to do is to solve all the puzzles :)

Below a description of how far I managed to get. If anyone made some more progress I would like to hear it. I will include some spoilers so if you want to try it by yourself first, don't read any further.

The game seems very complex at first to manage because of all the characters, but soon you will learn that there are patterns. If you don't solve the game in 1200 turns Demoniak and his hordes have entered our universe and the game ends, but I think the game can be solved a lot faster.

The purpose of the game is to find al the components to make the ultimate bomb. With the bomb you can close the white-hole which Demoniak wants to use to enter our universe. Cortex is the only person who knows what components you need. Luckily out of safety reasons he won't tell anybody :)

***Teammembers***

If you want to see pictures of your team members try:
EXAMINE CORTEX, EXAMINE MADLOK, EXAMINE SIRIUS, EXAMINE SONDRA

-Cortex knows a lot. Take him everywhere, let him talk to everybody and listen to what he says.
-Sondra is a psychic. Use her ability to mindread. This way you learn what other characters are telling to each other while you are in another location. This is especially useful in the prison (see below).
-Madlok is a wizard. He is especially useful for his healing spells and his ability to summon objects or persons. Beware he can only be trusted until you find the talisman (see below).
-Flame can burn. I didn’t find much use for her until now. It seems she dies quite early in the game.
-Sirius, that’s you (at least at the beginning of the game), is in command of the team. You can command each team member by using his/her name for instance CORTEX”TELL ME ABOUT DEMONIAK” or all members at once TEAM “WAIT”.

You can fly to all the planets in any order you like but to solve some puzzles it is necessary to have some other planet before.

***EARTH***

You start the game on the planet earth. Become Cortex and read the mission plan [Freezyassov, mr Buikk, B-52, Malignus, Fundamenta, Demoniak information source: Salman Rushdie, Hermit, Golden rod of apollo, Madlok? Talisman?]. Tell the members to take a communicator [TEAM "TAKE COMMUNICATOR"]. With the communicator you can order one of your team members when you are in another location. Command each team member to take one of the weapons and become Sirius again. Listen to the story of Cortex and follow him inside the spaceship Proteus. You learn you have to destroy the gateway to the universe with a device called the ultimate bomb to prevent the invasion by Demoniak. He tells you have to visit the planet Freeezyassov to obtain some of the components. Cortex asks if someone has a preference which planet to visit first. I don’t know which planet you have to visit first to solve the game, until now I normally answer this by CORTEX “FREEZYASSOV”. Cortex commands Proteus to fly to the planet and he tells you that from now on you can assume command.

The only other interesting thing on Earth is the red post box. Later on you get a letter which you can post here.


While flying type WAIT until Proteus says we didn’t crash and press a key to take over control again.

This is the most dangerous planet to be because you can get killed in a lot of ways. It’s also the part where I still have the majority of problems to solve.

After you have landed order your team to follow you by TEAM “follow me”. PRESS OVAL PAD to open the hatch of Proteus. Leave the spaceship.

If you walk north and you type LOOK NORTH, you notice four guards hitting Gor. Flame tells she wants to save him. To do this go north (you see a picture of the guards hitting Gor) and order the team members with the guns to shoot the guards. Save before you enter this location, but normally all should survive. At the end of the fight Flame starts burning and tells you to go away. Tell Madlok to heal Gor. Tell Gor to follow you and return all to Proteus before you freeze to death. Tell Madlok to heal all. Tell Gor and the other team members to wait and go with Cortex to the prison. [CORTEX”S”, GOR”WAIT”, TEAM”WAIT”, S,CORTEX “FOLLOW ME”]. Don’t forget to take the two laser guns with you because you need them to enter the prison.

Until now I didn’t find a purpose for Gor. If you don’t rescue Gor, after a few turns the guards will take him back to the prison and put him in cell 3.

When you arrive at the prison the thickset guard demands your laser guns in order to let you in. After you give them to him he brings you to the reception room. The governor greets you and tells you the b-unit (B-52) is no longer here. This a lie because if you ask Sondra tell me were is B-52 she uses her psychic powers to locate him in cell 1. This should alert you the governor is not to be trusted. Let Cortex talk a bit more with the governor (just look around while they are talking) and Cortex asks about the talisman of Malignis in the temple which was discovered below . The governor look uneasy and tells you have been misinformed. He than walks away with the wiry guard and tells you to leave.

Become Sondra and mindread the governor. You learn the following:
Governor says to wiry guard "No more waiting around. I don't want to loose any men, so surprise is essential. Fetch the guards in the eastern towers [this are the guards with the two lethal weapons]- that'll arouse least suspicion. If the visitors are still here when you return...ice them! Leave it at least a few minutes before you enter the reception. I want time get Jane [the admin clerk] and a few other valuables out of there before the shooting starts.

A wile later the Wiry guard returns. Start mindreading him and you learn he tells the thickset guard” right let's make a move. Thicky if one of the visitors happen to stagger out of reception ..ice him or make sure that he doesn’t wander off"

After the governor left the admin clerk asks to help her. Say ADMIN”YES” and follow her. Ste takes you across the guards room and into the store room. Here you find some interesting objects. Take what you want and don’t forget to take the key from cell 12 from the steel box. The files in the box can’t be read because these are the descriptions of inmates in the manual (if someone wants them send me a pm). Don’t wait for the admin clerk to return because she won’t. While you passed the guards room you noticed a laundry bag. You should have taken it somehow, The problem is I didn’t manage to do this because the guards block you if you don’t follow the admin clerk. However before you enter the prison you can let Madlok summon the laundry bag. Take the uniform out of it and wear it in order to be able to pass the guards room. Put the objects you’ve taken inside the bag. While walking across the guards room don’t forget to take the cigarettes with you because one of the inmates wants them. The Clerk asks the steel box from you and asks if you encountered errors in some file. You can say yes or no. The admin clerk asks if you want to take a letter from her and post it on Earth. I did this but I did not find any use for it.

After this the governor calls the admin clerk to follow him and this is the moment to escape before the wiry guard and the two tower guards enter the reception to kill you. Escape from the prison before this happens because if you don’t reach the spaceship before this happens the also blast you to death when you walk outside.

Become Sondra and mindread the wiry guard. You learn that the search for you in powerhouse and the canteen. After this they search in the pit and the stairs to the cells. If they don’t find you in any of these places the towerguards return to their east towers.

Well this is all I managed to do on this planet, but there has to be done a lot more. Becoming the different characters you can learn a few things about more problems you still have to solve:

-You can ask the admin clerk to unlock the safe with the small key. Inside the safe you find a pamphlet which is a kind of manual to the powerhouse. You also find a building plan of the prison which indicates there is more space below the prison. You also find gold bars but the reception guard won’t let you take them.

-Most doors are opened by pressing pads. These can only be opened by the personal of the prison. In order to walk freely around there has to be some way to open these doors.

-If you mange to enter the powerhouse you can control the generator and destroy the pipes. Inside the cells you also notice pipes. I think they are connected in some puzzle but I don’t know how. You can shoot the pipes, but I don’t know the use of this.

-If you manage it to get below into the cellblocks you have to find some way of obtaining the cell door keys from the jailor guards.

-If finally make it inside cell 1 he will help you if you give him a gold bar and one of the laser guns.

-You can also take the firebrand from the iceplane but I don’t know what’s the use of this.

-is there some use for the computer in the reception room?

-If you get the hotrod from the store room and you turn it on. You can make holes with it in the ice. However they ice freezes again.
-Sometimes the governor offers you to give you a tour around the prison. Unfortunately I don’t remember how this can be achieved.

-The big question is how to enter the temple. Because I made a map of the game I managed to enter it by cheating. I know you have to fall down a chute somewhere but I’ve been searching everywhere and until now I didn’t succeed .So if anybody knows how to enter the temple Please let me know.

-Inside the temple there is a booby-trap. When you walk toward the idol statue. A chain with a large spear on it pinches your body. There are two ways to solve this. B-52 is the only one who survives this, but another solution is to let Madlok walk east first and let him die. The reason for this is that after you have taken the talisman he turns himself against the team and tries to kill you. When you take the talisman the statue comes alive and you are attacked by the idolman. Make sure you took the chain and the spear because if you didn’t he uses them to attack you. He is a very strong opponent. I didn’t find a way to kill him. If you escape you can climb up the stairs and on top of them to find some secret passage into cell 4. There you encounter the craytwins. Give them the cigarettes before they attack you. You need the key to the cell door to be able to escape from it.


As you see there are still a lot of things to be solved on this planet.


***HERMITAGE***

This planet only exists of two locations. You encounter Salman Rushdie who lives there in a cave.
Cortex tells you we should visit Salman Rushdie. He will direct us to the golden rod of Apollo a part of the bomb.

Until now Salman didn’t tell me anything about the rod. If anyone knows, please tell.


***FUNDAMENTA***


Read the sign on the church. You notice they are searching for a new priest. Enter the church. Wait until Mary comes and talks to you. She asks if you are mr. Samuels. Don’t say yes , because it is a test and she will attack you with the broken bottle. Then she will ask you if you are the new priest. Say yes and listen to her. She eventually will give you the ticket.

Leave the church. The next part I managed to solve by becoming barman and Malcolm and switch between them to give answers. Walk to the meadow. Prince Malcom will appear and he offers to wake up your girlfriend, the sleeping beauty. Say yes to him. Become Malcolm and kiss the beauty. The barman will tell about how the girl was bewitched. If you do it right the girl will awake and walk away. If not Prince Malcolm will try to sing and because this also doesn’t help the decide to enter the bar together with a hermit which arrived. What is important that you take the dusty bottle with wine from the bar before they enter it. If they start drinking the barman falls asleep and you can’t talk to him any longer. become cortex and ask the barman to tell about the skeleton on the meadow. The barman tells his name was VANGORM. You can also ask him about the dj if you like. Leave the bar to the east.

-The following problem is obtaining the curious key. The moment you take the key, the skeleton awakes and starts killing everyone. You can break the skeleton and the key falls on the ground, but the skeleton still awakes. If someone knows how to get the key without awaking the skeleton I would like to know .

-Walk east to the bouncer and give him the ticket you got from mary. Notice you can only once enter the dancing so it’s important you already have the curious key.

-Walk to the dj and ask him to tell about the hermit. He tells you he will tell you if you give him the curious key. Give him the key and he tells you the name of the magician is UNKI.

***Olympus***

The priest asks if you are a tourist or seek salvation. Answer two times no. Then he wants proof you have knowledge from Fundamenta. He wants the two names. PRIEST”VANGORM AND UNKI”. The priest now lets you pass. Pull any of the three chains to open the door.

If you climb up the tower you find a gold rod but I’m not sure if this is the gold rod of Apollo you need. If you look on statue below in the church you find the penis of the golden statue. Because this game is full of jokes I guess this is the one you need.

-If you didn’t give the curious key to the dj you can open the vestry door with it and enter the vestry, but there is nothing down there. The other door is a red herring.


***Whitehole***

If you have all the components to make the bomb tell CORTEX”MAKE THE ULTIMATE BOMB”. IF you don’t have all the components he will tell. IF you manage to make the bomb (something I did not manage) I guess you should fly with Proteus to the whitehole. Enter the escape pod with the bomb, shut the hatch and pull the red lever. You will now fly away with the escape pod and this is the only place where you can do this without being able to breath.

-------------------------------------------------------

Well that’s how far I made it until now. There are still a lot of problems who need to be solved especially on the planet of Freezyassov. Although the game may seem very complex at first, not knowing where to start, but when you get the hang of it, it actually is a very nice adventure.

I hope the above will help someone to get started and if you do solve any of my problems please let me know. I first started to play this game 20 years ago on my IBM XT. I would like it very much to be able to solve it at last.

It took me some while, but I just found the entrance to the underground temple! :D Ok, there are still lots of problems to be solved, but finally I can complete the map. I also discovered some more things. I've to go now, but I'll explain it later.

I've just uploaded the new (and now complete map). I found the entrance to the underground temple to be in cell 10. When you enter cell 10 you are attacked by an unseen enemy. From the manual you know this has to be Laze Blaze Karoo. You need the spray can from the store room. SHAKE CAN and SPRAY KAROO WITH CAN makes him visible. When you've got rid of him BECOME FLAME and use your superpower to turn yourself on fire with BURN, MELT GROUND and an opening down appears (If you try to make an opening with the hotrod it's only a small hole and the floor doesn't cave in to make a huge opening). Don't forget to enter STOP BURNING to become normal again. If you go down you enter the chute and fall down. Problem is you make a huge fall on the ground and almost everyone is badly hurt. Maybe the mattresses have to be used in some way to prevent this? Well at least it’s some progress, but many problems yet to solve.

I took another look at the Freezyassov planet.

When you enter the planet Freezyassov there is a specific sequence in which timing of your movements is essential. Mindreading several people with Sondra you can hear the following long conversations (at the end I'll write some conclusions and questions):

At moment X you enter the reception office after you have given the two guns to the guard at the entrance.
X+2 turns
The governor says "How nice to meet you all -visitors from earth are so rare these days. I'll be with you in a minute, we're rather busy at the moment."
X+3 turns
The thickset guard says "I shall leave the laser guns with the duty clerk.[admin clerk]"
The thickset guard leaves the guns with admin clerk.
X+4 turns
The thickset guard gives the laser guns to the admin clerk.
x+5 turns
The admin clerk asks mr Buikk for the small key.
X+6 turns
The governor says "So sorry to have kept you waiting. A. 'Doctor Cortex' beamed a message over this morning. Rather confused it was. Something about needing my help in an important mission. It mentioned one of our, um, guests. Or rather one of our ex-guests; a B-unit [B52]."
X+7 turns
Doctor Cortex says "I'm Doctor Cortex. Yes the matter is urgent. You say 'ex-guest'? You mean the B-unit is no longer, er, resident here?"
The governor says "The B-unit is no longer. Period. I must confess to being rather curious as to why you seek him. He is really quite pathetic without his weaponry."
X+9 turns
Cortex hovers backwards and forward a few times and then stops abruptly. He then says to the governor, "The unit in question contains valuable military data. Data that can now be de-coded with equipment I recently developed. Your help in salvaging the unit would be generously rewarded, naturally."
The governor says"If I could help , I would. Nothing left to salvage I'm afraid. Now if there's nothing else, I really do have a lot of work to do. Sorry you've had a wasted journey."

Cortex says"Just one more thing, Mr Buikk. I'm told that a temple of Malignus was uncovered during construction of the prison. I'm mainly interested in the reports of a mysterious talisman therein. Perhaps you can show me this temple?"
At the mention of the talisman, Mr Buikk looks slightly uneasy. He quickly regains his composure and replies, "You've been mis-informed. Now, If you'll excuse me, I have work to do."

Some conclusions :) and a lot of questions :( :

-If you wait too long to return to the spaceship , you are shot by the western tower guards when you walk on the ice-plain.

-If you stay longer than 84 turns in the reception office you are killed by the eastern tower guards.

-During the conversations you can still enter commands and do other thing. For instance it is nice to have learned about the plans of the Governor, but you don't have to read this part of the conversation when you play.

-If you want to help the admin clerk type TEAM "WAIT"", ADMIN"yes", FOLLOW ADMIN (if you don't follow her you are stopped by the guards in the guards room when you want to enter the store room.)." Don't forget to type STOP FOLLOWING as soon as you've entered the storeroom.

-In the store room you can:
*get key number 12 from the steel box. (to open cell 12)
*You need to take the spray can (you need it when you enter cell 10 to defeat blaze karoo).
*You can take the jar. It contains a hydroxide. (You can use this to kill Jelloid in cell 12. POUR LIQUID ONTO JELLOID and he collapses in a cloud of steam and fumes.
*Reading the files is useless. It's just a reason to be able to enter the store room.
*You can take the bananas. (should you give these to Gor??
*The laser guns are in the cabinet, but you need the small key to open it.

-Don't forget to take the box with you when you leave the store room to return it to the admin clerk. After a few questions, she will hand you her letter.

-To get past the guards in the guards room, when you return from the store room, you can wear the uniform which is inside the laundry bag.
Problem: The guards won't let you take this. You can use Madlok to summon the uniform, but maybe something else has to be done.

-Don't forget to take the cigarette packet while you are in the guard room. (I guess you need this with the Cray twins)

-You can give the bottle of brandy from the storeroom to the guards in the guardsroom and they become drunk. However this takes to many turns to be helpful.

-If you want to take the tour, you have to switch between characters the moment you enter the store room. What is the use of making the tour?

-Somehow you have to obtain the small key to be able to open the safe. From the safe you need to get the four gold bars which you have to give to B52. It also contains the pamphlet explaining the pipes in the powerhouse and the prison building plan. How to obtain the small key?

-Should something be done with the computer in the reception office?

-How to open the doors with the pad (the main entrance and the cell doors). Only the guards can open them. If you kill al the guards you can't escape.

Also should you leave the prison after getting the letter and return later? I posted the letter on Earth but I did not see any effect. Or should you make the governor let you allow to visit the prison by telling something to him during the conversation?

I think if you play the game solving all the puzzles you don't have to do a lot of fighting.

How do you enter the cells, how do you obtain the cell keys and how do you escape from the prison after you've obtained the talisman?

-I was wrong about Madlok (I think I misunderstood a few of my old notes). When you have the talisman he tells you he can now use his magic without getting tired. You can now heal the team without any problem.

I was also wrong about saving Gor at the start I guess. Because if you do this the western guards start shooting at you and you need Flame top open the entrance to the underground temple.

-What to do in the powerhouse? You can turn the dial up or down, but as long as the engineer is present he returns the dial to it's original position. If you shoot the small pipe everyone dies (including yourself). If you break the electricity pipe, all the hand pads are broken en the doors can't be opened any longer. If you shoot one of the other two pipes water comes from the pipes.

-What’s is the use of Gor? He is the strongest of all but I don't know what to do with him.

-B52 offers to fight for you if you give him the 4 bars of gold. Maybe he should be used to fight the Idolman. He is also the only one strong enough to survive the booby trap.

-Talking about the booby trap is there a way to disarm it?

These are just a few of many questions I still have with this game. Still a lot of work to do I guess :)

I was right. Before you jump you have to throw a few mattresses down with DROP MATTRESS INTO CHUTE. If you jump after you have thrown them down the chute you land on the mattress almost without injuries. Before the next team member jumps down go west. If not you will fall onto the other team member hurting him or her badly. Just have to discover which of the 12 mattresses are needed, because each mattress is protected by one of the inmates and some of them are very deadly.

A little bit more testing proves I wasn't wrong. When Madlok has the talisman you can use his magic without getting tired, unfortunately you can only use this if you are Madlok. If you return being one of the other team members after a while he does attack and finally kill the whole team. Because of this I guess to make him walk into the booby trap is not a bad idea. This way he gets killed and he won't attack the party.

I know you haven't posted here for a while, but I have this game, and am trying to beat it also. I am interested in seeing if you have progressed any further - also I want to know exactly how you woke sleeping beauty. An upload of your map and other notes would also be helpful.
