OK. Thanks.
The ZX81 version of Planet of Death was the first adventure I ever played. I've got fond memories of it, but not very clear or accurate ones, so I don't actually remember what all the differences were.

Re: Another Classic Ported to TRS-80 MC-10
I read that it was one of the first adventures played by many in the UK. It was that iconic status that drew me to it and why I wanted to try to bring a version of it to my favourite 8-bit. Programming allows me to relive a wee bit of that old excitement of the early days of computing:)pippa wrote:OK. Thanks.

Thanks for your interest.
Re: Another Classic Ported to TRS-80 MC-10
Another classic ported to MC-10. "Demon Knight" originally for the Dragon 32 by ASP Sopftware. Now without the painfully slow graphics text rendering.
Re: Another Classic Ported to TRS-80 MC-10
After some extensive bug testing of Demon Knight, the Dragon version that I ported, I can report some bugs that appear in the original Dragon version, which have now been eliminated in my MC-10 port. Reports of "looking" at certain objects or "examining" (I added this as a synonym for looking, as it is more standard and appears to work in the C64 walthrough by Dorthy) would not appear due to a incorrect variable name, O$ instead of O$(L) arrray being used. This serious problem (prevented many clues from appearing) is now fixed. I also added the synonym "kill" to do the same work as the more arcane verb "sacrifice". "Looking" south across the pit now reports its message instead of reporting that message only when you are up the tree. I added the ability to input single letter directions N/S/E/W/D. The screen display is now also much faster than the "graphic text" version of the Dragon. Added the help message that Dorthy mentions being present in the Library of the C64 version. Changed the verb "blow" to "spray" to bring the MC-10 version in line with the C64 walkthrough and because it makes more sense (and sounds less rude too).
Re: Another Classic Ported to TRS-80 MC-10
I've ported the game "Digitaya" from the VZ200 to the MC-10. Anyone played this one to completion? Any solutions available out there?
Re: Another Classic Ported to TRS-80 MC-10
I was playing the French c64 version a while ago. For the moment I'm in Spain but I'll be back next week. If nobody else has a solution, I look up my notes when I return.jgerrie wrote:I've ported the game "Digitaya" from the VZ200 to the MC-10. Anyone played this one to completion? I noticed the version for Commodore. Merci. Repondez en francaise si vous preferer.Alex wrote:I was playing the French c64 version a while ago. For the moment I'm in Spain but I'll be back next week. If nobody else has a solution, I look up my notes when I return.

Francaise? Alex is not a Francaise, I presume.jgerrie wrote:I noticed the version for Commodore. Merci. Re: Another Classic Ported to TRS-80 MC-10
I finished the maps (French and English version). This week I'll try to write the walkthroughs.
Re: Another Classic Ported to TRS-80 MC-10
I've uploaded walkthroughs and maps for both the English and French version.
Re: Another Classic Ported to TRS-80 MC-10
Thanks for the walkthrough and the map. It helped me make sure that the version I ported to the MC-10 was free of bugs (both in the game and in the code;)

Re: Another Classic Ported to TRS-80 MC-10
I've ported the Usborne book adventure "The Mystery of Silver Mountain" to the TRS-80 MC-10. Noticed in the walk through by Dorthy that she doesn't mention that you must MOVE RUBBLE after you make it to the stalactites room using the inscription directions. She simply has you go E once you get there, which seems to defeat the purpose of the complex hint for making your way to the heart of the maze and then just to go right back out (without doing anything or finding anything).
Re: Another Classic Ported to TRS-80 MC-10
Here's another port from the VZ-200 to the TRS-80 MC-10: "Haunted Forest."
The emulator for the TRS-80 and the needed file for CLOADing "HFOREST.C10" can be found here:

Re: Another Classic Ported to TRS-80 MC-10
Here is a map for "Haunted Forest" that should also serve as a walk-through.
Re: Another Classic Ported to TRS-80 MC-10
I have ported another BASIC text adventure to the MC-10, "Beneath the Temple of Zeus", from Softline Magazine Nov-Dec 1983. Originally in Applesoft BASIC. Map solution will follow shortly.
