pilgrim's progress

#1 Post by terri » Fri Mar 17, 2006 12:52 am

Hi folks
A while back I tried a game with a religious theme. This involves reading the bible at various locations especially to get verbs. With reference checks to the "good book" I got a little into it, but then got stuck. It really is a game and challenging in its way.

Is anyone interested in playing it? Esp anyone with the King James version of the Bible?

If so, let me know.

Pilgrim's Progress (spectrum) is it's name, available on WOS (I think).

I have yet to start this but I wondered if either http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/131 or http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/7088 would be of any help. (Downloads near the bottom of each page.)

Gee, I hadn't even considered that the game would be based on Bunyan's story. I don't remember the reviews or intro saying anything about this. I just figured that the bible would help you solve the puzzles (which are at almost every step along the way).

I'm not sure I want to download the entire book, though I should, at least to see if the beginning is the same.

Let me know if you are willing to give the game a try. I am stuck where the demon kills me. There are also random elements here as well.

Actually on further thought, you do need the Bible because the game gives you the book and chapter and verse. So you need to look them up. It's a touch tedious, but interesting nonetheless.

I suppose we should go to the other forum, but for starters, how do you find out what you are carrying?

Re. Bunyan, I read the magazine reference at WoS.
