I don't know how to check your inventory. As far as I can tell you don't have to. Once you get the book, that appears to be all you need. The rest are actions, not objects - at least I haven't run across any yet. There appear to be random elements here, or junction points where you can go in different directions.

I am stuck after entering the doorway.

A strange game this, not so much an adventure, rather a linear series of puzzles where you have to work out the correct response; I now see that there is no need for an inventory. I wonder, are you supposed to stick to the path, or to stray and then redeem yourself?

Anyway I am currently at the foot of the Hill of Difficulty, is the doorway much further?

I don't remember the hill of difficulty.
What I've done so far (and it was some time ago) I ate a meal, rested, asked the man for help, went north, ran, asked in faith somewhere, followed somebody, met the man who said to take the shortcut (but I don't think I did).

Is that where the Hill of Difficulty was?

This is not going to be easy to coordinate. Maybe the best thing to do will be to type up everything, share this, then build on this.

I can't remember, are there points accumulated?

Well, you have made much progress. I too don't know what to do at the Hill of Difficulty. My Bible reference says to kneel, but the game does not recognize that verb.

The doorway I was stuck in is earlier. When the gate opens after you knock, I didn't go in but went south, rb gives you Mat7v13-14. Going south again and rb, gives you Ps 53. (I haven't tried "pray" here, maybe that makes a difference.) Then enter doorway, read book Mat3v7-10.

That's where I am stuck.

I'm not stuck at the Hill of Difficulty, that was as far as I reached in that session. Just LAP WATER then U (or the wrong way U without drinking, or DRINK WATER). I will have to look at the doorway problem.

Lap water, eh? Seems to me that is the opposite of the Bible reference's intention. Oh well...

The place I was stuck in - I think that is just a dead end, though there are many places you can get out of. If you go in and promptly leave, yu can get out.

At the hill - if you just DRINK WATER, you die, so I will try as you suggest.

By the dragon - after taking the shield of faith, any way to avoid getting wounded?

I am now stuck after meeting "talkative". Any suggestions? He tells you to read Romans 12 and Galatians 5 and 6.

Apologies for the delay, I gave the game a rest for a few days and then I also had problems with the dragon and talkative. Anyway, to get past talkative try HOLD TONGUE.

I am stuck again. I have 74%, am at the gates and need scrolls. Have you come across them? Other than at the beginning, I haven't come across any objects.

Apparently one loses points visiting some locations. Sometimes it appears not to matter what you say, presuming since the object of the game is to get you to read the Bible.

I take it that after the trial, when given the choice of STAY or GO DOOR, you stayed. You can obtain a scroll after the angels appear soon after you lose your burden, I have edited my earlier reply to show how.

By staying in the room after the trial I managed a final score of 79% with unvisited locations, what score do you get?

Now to take the other path...

Yes, I stayed after the trial when the open door was present. I saw angels but did not get any scroll, nor did I lose my burden. I thought I lost that a while back, much closer to the beginning. I suppose I could go back and not "lose" it there, but if I did the right thing there, why should it matter?OK I'll go back and see if there is anything I can do there. Do you need to say anything to the angels?

I'll let you know what score I get.

Thanks for the tip about the scroll. I keep using "take" not "get". I have finished with 87%. I think the score depends on the number of locations you visit and/or the number of times you get a scripture passage to read.

Where the door was open, I said "CLOSE DOOR" rather than stay or wait. I think that got me one more point.

It also took a while to figure out not to sleep after lapping the water. AWAKE prevented one from running into two people, losing points for sleeping (and then reading not to sleep), and losing the scroll.

Boasting also seemed to add points (though sometimes I stumbled, and sometimes not).

Other than the time it took to read the references and figuring out what you should say (a kind of "guess the verb" problem) not that bad of a game.

Thanks Alastair.

Since you are halfway in writing a solution, I'll let you do it if you want. :P
Let me know if you don't get 87% or if you get more.

Strange, when I try CLOSE DOOR I get the same result as GO DOOR.

This part puzzles me, you seem to get a point no matter what you do, though you do not stumble if you say DO NOT BOAST. There is a similar case later on in the pleasant fields, did you follow the road or the path?
