Close I guess...don't think I would have ever got that one though. I had tried POINT, which what I would have figured covered that idea.

For the third riddle, I keep thinking of something natural, i.e. non man made. The last line makes it sound like it turns into something else, more than just disappears. The first line still gets me though, if it's destroyed more than it's created, wouldn't that mean that it's never created?

3rd riddle

#17 Post by Guido »

I started to think in the same direction, especially of some sort of natural disaster (people want that it doesn´t exist). The 1st line confuses me a little too (I thought about something like the ozone hole, which somehow is destroyed but logically I´m wrong.)
Also thought about some kind of epidemic (expand to uncontrollable size).
But nothing will really fit in all statements. And maybe it´s absolutely the wrong direction, could also be something in a very different sphere. :?

You reminded me of a similar riddle in another game, where the answer was 'nothing', but of course that didn't work either.

third riddle solved

#19 Post by terri »

I've solved the third riddle. What am I bid??? :P

Here is are some
"obscure
hints (I know I am being quite perverse here - but it's kinda nice being in control, just a little):

Some are short-lived, some longer....

Check with your women friends - ask them about what kind of waist there is among dresses....

History books often include this word in particular phrases...

heh-heh :P

I won't be too perverse

Since I am stuck soon after, I won't make you guys wait too long, and I'm going to need help. That area is really weird.

Here is another hint (a la Jacob). It has six letters. The first letter is in the first part of the alphabet. These are very prosaic hints. I kinda like the first ones I gave you better.

Think sacred, try a synonym, then think of a three-word phrase. Britain had one and it used to be pink on maps.

Will post again tomorrow, after I finish cooking the last of the Christmas Eve stuff.

I have it, but don't think it's a fair one....Terri, what was it that gave it away for you?

I'm stuck now trying to open (or is that close) the box.....

On a related note, has anyone found a use for the potion yet?

Since I was the person who posted the original request for a solution I'm very grateful for all the help in the discussion so far.

'Rip fang' indeed! What kind of dentist does the author have? That was my stumbling block.

However, I still don't know what to insert in the boulder and can't stop the Otherans killing me. Any hints for either?

Finally, where is this unicorn?

All the best,

G :?

Boulder hint

Free the slaves and read carefully the response. I hope it is enough help!

After this do some obvious things and in the end you get the boulder-object!
