Set Up

Hi, Terri,

I think you might have been playing the 'bugged' version of 'Set Up'.

There's a debugged version at WoS.

Your partial solution doesn't work because the whole point of the game is to take all the evidence found to the Commander on Aesculapius to secure a reprieve. And you only seem to have explored part of Aesculapius and not found James Berk and dealt with him. Also your 'solution' ignores numerous chance elements covered by the debugged version of the game.

All the best,

Geoff

I thought that the version I was playing was from W of S.

Yes, I know there were chance elements (many of them) but I tended to ignore them when writing the solution.

I'll check out the game again.

Thanks for the tip.

Ha! I am pretty sure when I downloaded the game originally, this "fixed" version was not available.

So, I'm gonna have to go through all those "random" elements yet once again. Aaargh!!!

Someday when my kitchen is functional again....

Nevertheless, thanks Geoff.

Hi, Terri,

Well, you can't ignore all the random elements (and need to have a certain strength level to beat the 'butch guard'), but why bother? It's a very poor game and probably unworthy of further effort.

Well, the game may not be great, but for closure's sake, should one not finish something one starts, unless it's unfinishable? After a while it's a matter of principle.

Yes, I know, the butch guard isn't killable at the beginning.

Some days everything frustrates me.
