This one bc2tijd.bas is for the PC. Someone removed the copyright (C) LDL '92.

Code: Select all

20 KEY OFF:SCREEN 0,0,0:WIDTH 80:GOTO 1010

Code: Select all

112 LOCATE V%,H%:RETURN

Code: Select all

250 BEEP:RETURN
260 RANDOMIZE TIMER:RV=RND:RETURN
270 FR=FRE(0):RETURN
Those non-standard commands mean it seems to be in Microsoft GWBasic, so it looks like you've got a (possibly unofficial?) DOS version, ported from the Spectrum one.

Thanks for all the feedback on this. The version I had was the same as the version that Alex posted. It looks like this was for Basicode 1 and the version on the JavaScript interpreter web site is for Basicode 2. The lines that look like they're for the PC are Basicode code.

I think it's safe to assume that there is no native Spectrum ZX version and you need a Spectrum Basicode interpreter to run it.

I think I might try translating this to English and porting it to MC-10. Is it a good game?

I don't know, because I haven't translated it. Be brave. Do us all a favour.

Still plunking away at it. Too bad it wasn't written in Friesian, it would be just that little bit easier...

I've finished translating it to English. Done some debugging too, and have played through to completion.

Hi. Could anyone direct me to the BBC BASIC version of this game, please? I can't seem to find it online anywhere.

I've found a BASICODE version, but I get the impression from this thread and from the CASA entry that there's a separate BBC BASIC version out there..?

The BASICODE version would've been used to generate the BBC MICRO version. I presume that someone out there must've come across the constructed BBC MICRO version at some point as the entry was originally tagged for the Spectrum and BBC Micro prior to when I added a BASICODE reference.

(Here's a nice UK-centric article on BASICODE and the BBC Radio broadcasts... https://nosher.net/archives/computers/comm_008-acorn )

I've emailed you what I have. Unfortunately, I don't remember where I got it. If it's hard to find, maybe we could add it to CASA as a fixed game? Now that Jim Gerrie has done an English translation (thanks Jim), is anyone up for porting that to the BBC and Spectrum?

I'll look into what needs to be done to create a translated version of the game for the Beeb, possibly using some/all of Jim's translation. (Thanks, Jim! Thanks, Garry!)

Hi,

I do have a BBCBASIC version of this game in Dutch. You can play it with Beebem. See if I can attach it.

Will have a Coco and Dragon version of this, and Night of "The Night of the Vampire Bunnies" up shortly.
