Looks good to me. Well done for sorting out that problematic entry, I'm sure that'll help some of the people that have obviously got frustrated with the game in the recent past (such as the guy who made the YouTube video).Alastair wrote: Wed Jun 03, 2020 11:27 pm I've added a warning to the "Notes", please check it to see if I have got it right.

What is the filename of the file you got from 8bitfiles? The one I've downloaded doesn't show the recorder in the first location.Exemptus wrote: Tue Jun 02, 2020 10:41 pm Appreciated, this is useful to know. For the record, the D64 file hosted on 8bitfiles seems to be in good condition - at least, it shows the recorder, and it is possible to take it.

Yes I also saw his videoStrident wrote: Thu Jun 04, 2020 11:21 am Well done for sorting out that problematic entry, I'm sure that'll help some of the people that have obviously got frustrated with the game in the recent past (such as the guy who made the YouTube video).
Same over here. If you are interested I can send you the tape file. It takes some minutes to load even on an emulator.Strident wrote: Thu Jun 04, 2020 11:37 am What is the filename of the file you got from 8bitfiles? The one I've downloaded doesn't show the recorder in the first location.
Re: The Orion Quest c64
I did some poking around on 8bitfiles and both copies that I found were bad. They were both disk images. Are you saying there's a tape image?
Re: The Orion Quest c64
Yes that would be great; I'd like to pass it on to SeasickSteve.Alex wrote: Thu Jun 04, 2020 12:18 pm Same over here. If you are interested I can send you the tape file. It takes some minutes to load even on an emulator.
Re: The Orion Quest c64
Yes, not on 8bitfiles, but I got it from someone who made it from his original copy.
Re: The Orion Quest c64
Gotcha. In that case, I wouldn't mind a copy too. It's got me a bit intrigued.
Re: The Orion Quest c64
Thanks for the file Alex. I've put it temporarily up here...

(P.S. I'll never cease to be amazed how slow the C64 is in loading stuff

Re: The Orion Quest c64
Well it would be nice an emulator could speed up the loading a bit, but then again when I had my first MSX computer it was normal it would take up to 15 mintues for a 64k game to loadStrident wrote: Thu Jun 04, 2020 1:09 pm (P.S. I'll never cease to be amazed how slow the C64 is in loading stuff )
Re: The Orion Quest c64
Received. Thanks. I can see the recorder on the first screen.
You were right, though. It sure does take a long time to load.

Re: The Orion Quest c64
I wouldn't be surprised if the original game came on tape only and the game became corrupted when someone tried copying it to disk.
Re: The Orion Quest c64
The file I found was reachable through this link, but I just noticed it is a remote redirect away from 8bitfiles to the Unrenamed FTP Archive. In any case, that is a D64 copy apparently in good condition, but the tape file is a better preservation of the original. Thanks for posting it.

Re: The Orion Quest c64
This is different to the other two files on 8bitfiles and it shows the recorder in the first location, so, on the surface, it looks like a good file.
