I've recently been made aware [through bg on intfiction] of the sad news that Adam Atkinson passed away in December. He is known in our community for his contemporary connections to the Phoenix (T/SAL) mainframe games and was the author of Nidus https://solutionarchive.com/game/id%2C6139/Nidus.html

Adam was a legend in the recreational maths community as many of the links below expand upon.

The tributes to him are lovely. As he must've been. I know some here on the forums have corresponded with him in the past.

I knew about his illness as I had always informed him of my progress in the Phoenix games over the years - including the odd bug like the freezing of objects in Parc. He helped me over the line with Acheton too back in the day. A very decent, self effacing individual and a sad loss.

I didn't know about his influence and what he'd done during an IFMud session where people were testing my game. He found some really good stuff that -- well, they showed insight few people would've had.

This is a bit late, but I still wanted to drop my own tribute in. He took time and effort to help someone he didn't know, and help significantly.
