Emulation cheat sheets

As we're playing adventures for several different emulators I wonder whether it would be worth writing a few cheat sheets for suggestions on how to get started with different flavours of system. Also pointers for where to get the games.

I know a lot of BBC games are being missed as there is a lack of knowledge about the BBC emulators.

I know this will help me (I got totally confused with the CPC); will it help others?

I can start by putting one together for the BBC/Electron.

According to me, we are in short suppy for any hints tht we can have to finish BBC games. I think Jacob and I were playing Seventh Star, though it's been a while.

Maybe tbe best thing for your offer of help is to peruse the posts that have been offered, asnd then offer to helpmwith code cracking.

If by "cheat sheet" you mean a guide to getting people started with various systems, such as the Beeb, I think it's a tremendous idea and I'm all for it.

If, on the other hand, the intention is to tell everybody how to hack the games and peek at the code, I guess I'm not too hot on the idea. I'm not trying to sound too judgemental or anything, but I'd rather not see adventure solving turning into code breaking :)

That's what I meant; having struggled through trying to work discs on CPC and Apple ad nauseam I thought it'd be helpful...

It certainly would be helpful. I thought BBC emulation was the largest pain until BeemEm started featuring a quickstart feature.

If you can cover the BBC and perhaps the Amstrad, I can write up brief guides for the other popular systems. I can then put it in the emulator section or whereever it fits.
