An Amstrad game. Written in GAC - hint, hint to Dave.
Seems relatively straightforward, until you get to the manhole in the hut.
Now what? Can't seem to go down it.

You need to open the trapdoor before you can go down, look around the room, there's a big clue when you first walk in!

Yes I saw the shelf. It is spelled BOOK SHELF. To examine it, you need to use BOOKSHELF - one word, not two.
Aaah we should know this. Of course, it's logical. Aaargh.
Anyway, thank you for that.
What to do at the stone? It tells me I am carrying too much. I can drop everything but the gas mask. I have tried all combinations, including those two words together.
So, a hint about what to do at the stone, please?

You should be able to pick up the stone with the gas mask!
Your carrying weight is 151, the stone weighs 100 and the gas mask is 15. But I can't see anything obvious that you can do with the stone.

No, unfortunately I cannot pick it up. Regardless of the objects I haved dropped.
So, this tells me I have neglected to do something important.
I have tried to drop the "bird" food where there are no birds. Nothing.
Since this game is so step-by-step (apparently logically written) I think I am missing something obvious.
Can you give me some more clues? Maybe at specific locations would help?

I am eagerly awaiting your reply, given my situation in other games.

I starting to think I've found a bug in my GAC decoder, as far as I can tell that food and the stone only have examine descriptions and nothing else - I can see any actions to do with them!
When you refer to the stone, do you mean the stone or the rock; the stone is in the palace and the rock is at the top of the mountain? The basic difference is that the rock moves.

I mean the stone in the palace. I can't see how you can't get it, cuz there's nothing to do after this.

You need to ROW in a particular direction.

I'm afraid to say NO -
I am at the river with the boat and oars.
When I try 'ROW' and then a direction eg e/s/n nothing happens.
I've tried dropping the boat, launching/entering/boarding still nothing.
I think you will have to give me the correct verb/noun input.
Cheers.

OK - I'll try.
I am carrying food, book, dead dog, oars, (worn) sunglasses, (worn) spikes, 1/2 glass of chemical liquid.
At the boat - CLIMB BOAT, ROW EAST, etc. This, eventually will get you to the hut.
Hope this helps.

I could not get the tyre. It says you can try blowing it up, but I don't know how.
As for the glowing stone, see the previous posts. I can't get it, no matter if I am carrying nothing.

I hope DAVE is still reading these messages - I think WE both need his help to find out what and where to to go now. When we are both stuck NOW is also the time to 'cheat' a little by looking at the coding.
HELP DAVE...
