OK, found it.
Oooooo dash - I don't have the ....candle back to end of part 1....
Put many of those small items, like the flint, candle, tinderbox, etc. in the bag, that way you can carry more stuff to the next part of the game. We still don't know everything that's going to be needed for this part so you might as well try to carry as many items as you can.
I've tried all those ideas with the raven it just cocks his head and squawks.
Same here. But I forgot to bring any food in my bag. You might want to try to bring the apple or the crust. Maybe if you feed him...
I did't see the troll - I was very good and gave the elf the gold piece to get the wheatcake.
Yes, that's how I dealt with the elf. But if the "giants" mentioned at the fountain is a reference to the troll, then he has the gauntlets somewhere. He might have to be dealt with.

The tapestry depicts a troll 'bathing beneath a waterfall'
If he is bathing then he must not have any clothes on - maybe the gauntlets are there - but where is the pool at the bottom of the waterfall - I have not seen it.

When I kill the witch and then search witch I find the goblet/shoes/raven/open door - is this some kind of bug? as you can't get the raven from hag - BUT if you get the book a raven flies in.
So this open door? I've lit the candle worn the shoes, and tried go though door - but have not been able to go through.
HOW?
OK FORGET THAT I'VE RE-READ THE DESCRIPTION TO SEE A DARK TUNNEL MOUTH...
JUST ENTERING NOW...

Neither have I.
Did you bring such items like the rasp, or the bowl, or the spoon, with you? I forgot those. Maybe that's what's keeping me stuck.

I did not bring rasp, spoon, bowl, crust, pine cone, apple (I did not find this item) spade, fur, broom.
I did have the pine cone in the bag at one point and I thought I did a save but in part 2 it was not in the bag.
It looks as though we are completely stuck in part 2.
I wonder if Dave is reading these posts, and if he could 'unpaw' the game so that the messages could be read - I thing the key to opening up the game again is indeed 'The black key' on the ledge...
I have the utility 'unpaw' but it requires a .sna save. I did try saving a .sna but the spectaculator told me that it couldn't support it under 128 only a pentagon... I got confused so gave up on that.
I also tried to read the games under word pad but I got absolutely nothing.
HELP DAVE...
or Juan are you any good at decodding the PAW.

I found the apple inside the bowl.

I have tried using it but it does not seem to work on XP. Spectaculator can save games in .sna files. Did you try to load the second part of the game and then just save it as a .sna file? I did it and it seems to have saved it correctly.

The black key is the key to the game ...
EMPTY THE CAULDRON to find a small piece of venison
FEED THIS TO THE RAVEN who gets the black key.

Nice. I got 100% too.
I will write the first part of the solution. I will include Terri as well, since she did contribute something important for that part.

Thanks guys, but no need to include me. Be reasonable here. One hint does not a solution make. I didn't even get to play part 2 - you were done so fast.
Re: unpawing games.
I keep another Spectrum emulator available, for these purposes. I save the game (.sna or.z80), then open it in the other emulator, and save it (in the "other" format. Then you can unpaw it.

IIRC the .sna file format supports 128K spectrum images (and amstrad). But I use a different emulator (emuzwin) so may have different results...

Since my last post on trying to 'unpaw' a game - I have now managed to obtain a .sna using the pentagon on the Spectaculator emulator.
