Haunted Abbey (BBC)

I very rarely have the time to play these days, but over the past few weeks I've actually managed to make it to (what I presume is) the end game of this neat game.
The game requires a lot of back tracking and many items can be used in wrong ways, but in some ways I enjoy this. Yeah, I'm odd.
My score is 210/250 and I'm stuck in an octagonal room where I'm required to keep moving all the time or I die. There are 8 exits all the time and I haven't got a clue as where to go. Can any bright person out there help me? Partial solution and map available if so desired

I've got a copy of this on my home computer so I can have a look. IMing or emailing me what you've already got would be useful though.

Bombs away - the map is in your mailbox. The walkthru needs an overhaul - will send it tomorrow.

Just to let people know, 'tis now solved (and cause me to find that I've played this before - 7 years ago, though Jacob got further than I)!

Yes, I'm eternally (or some other measure of time) grateful for Dave's assistance. Solve and map with the next update.

Solved so fast, and I didn't even get a chance to play. You guys work fast.

Well, all that remained was walking through a number of rooms, so .... I don't think we can keep up this speed every time!

Jacob had pretty much completed it - all I had to do was work out the last puzzle and test the walkthrough!

My, my, fellows. No need to be modest.
Jacob, remember seventh star? We never did finish that one. Maybe Dave wants a crack at it. Me I still have my notes somewhere, but have completely forgotten about what was going on.

Terri, yes, I remember 7th Star. I still have my notes somewhere. And you're right, Dave must be our man.
Dave, you're our man! (You probably didn't know it until now, but you are).
The game in question is this one:

I don't know if you've played it already. Otherwise I have a partial map and miscellaneous notes to get you up to speed.

I've already got the disc image (another one I've had since 2002)! I'll have a bash at it first then give a shout. I also seem to have a partial map from last year!
I wonder whether we should set up some generic threads about the status of some games.

Dave, do you mean generic threads as those games that appear to be unsolvable, i.e. bugged in some way?
That would be a good idea. People can then decide if they choose to either
a) see if we are all idiots for not being able to solve it, even after cracking it; or
b) not to play it.

Excellent idea - we can make any such thread sticky.

Really just a thread showing all games for a platform cross referenced with the current solutions and whether it's unsolvable, or who's doing them, e.g.:
Seventh Star - being played by terri, dave and Gunness
Broken Game - crashes out with "no room" at line 1280

I think that just a thread with buggy games for each platform should be sufficient. Maintaining a list of who's currently playing what games could become quite a lot of work - and besides, it's fairly easy to see who's playing a game by looking at its thread.
