I was immensely fond of Mindwheel from Synapse Software and thought I'd give one of their other titles a go at some point when I could find the time. But the information I've located on Essex, Breakers and Brimstone was less than favorable. Has anyone here played any of those?
If you haven't played Mindwheel, you've missed out on one of the best adventures ever on the C64!
Synapse games - your opinion

have you played
Hi
The games you have mentiond Mindwheel Brinstone etc.
I have NOT played.
I have just downloaded a newer version of the CCS64 emulator V.3 I think - I find it easy to operate, but sometimes when I use the 'freeze save' and 'freeze load' my pc locks up. I don't know why and I loose all the 'saves'.
Anyway just thought I would reply.

For my money, VICE is a much more pleasant emulator and is far easier to use because everything is menu driven. But CCS has a few advantages
As for Mindwheel, you should really try it. It looks a bit like some of the Infocom games, but the writing is very lyrical and truly amazing. The story is bit reminiscent of Suspended in that you don't actually control your own character. Rather, you must enter the minds of four very different people, including a rock star and a policitian. Definitely a must-play.

I remember thoroughly enjoying Mindwheel as well. I don't recall playing the others you mentioned though. Didn't these games come with some sort of book as well? I wonder if they be difficult to play today without the book? Underdogs seems to have liked Breakers very much - it has a higher rating there than even Mindwheel.
