I think I have tried everything I could think of using the rock at the store. But since I tied it to the wire, maybe that's why things don't work.

Glad you got into the duct.

So, the matches...are...where?

I used it without the wire. Go back to an earlier saved game and use it without the wire.

They are inside the store as well, just not visible. You need to find them.

Have you figured out how to turn off the torch? ("deactivate torch", "torch off", "off torch", "turn off", "extinguish torch", etc. do not seem to work. I don't want to waste the batteries, just in case light is needed further in the game.)

Well, the rock worked even with the wire.

No I have not managed to turn off the torch. Dropping it doesn't work. OK, now I'm off to see what is behind the brushwood.

Chat again soon.

OK - got the matches. Thanks. Used a match. Have you figured out what to do at the well? I won't give a hint unless you ask. Then, type HELP at the lorry. Remember to use the British word, not the American one there.

So, now on the train.

This is a problem. WAIT does not seem to be a verb you can use.

So, still stuck. Don't know what to do to get the guard to show up.

Yes, I did all that already. I thought that maybe cleaning (with the gasoline) the graffiti in the train might summon the guard, but that does not seem to work either.

I suspect that the gas is to be used in the generator at the power station. But how do you get the steel door open? The little key found in the corpse does not work there. There very likely is another key which we have not found.

I have been able to open the steel door. You need the master key. It is found at the power station.

Can you be a bit more specific where the master key is? I've looked in all four locations (once you are in the chamber) and am still stuck.

There is one room at the power station that sticks out above the others. It has an obnoxious smell. This is a pretty tough puzzle because the description of the room is short and there are no clear hints of what you have to do. It took me a while to figure it out.

If you are still stuck, here's a hint:

OK, I just finished the game. I'll write a walkthrough.

Thanks Juan,

This is not just a tough puzzle. How in blazes are you supposed to know what to do?

Good that you finished.

Anyway, in the train. Now what do I do?

Trial and error! The description of the room gives a very faint clue ("You are in a very low, narrow etc.") of what you might want to try doing.

Did you get the generator running? That's why the train did not work before. Now you can just "whistle train" to activate it.

OK. I am done. Thanks for your help.

I'd be please to "run through" your solution.

Get ready for another game. If you'd like.

Wow! You guys are good. I tried playing it yesterday, and didn't get anywhere. Any chance of some subtle hints or clues? (I know you'll be posting a walkthrough on the site, but I don't like walkthroughs because I just end up following them all the way to the end!)

How do I light the torch? Even after I'd inserted the batteries, "Light Torch" "Use Torch" "Shine Torch" etc. didn't do anything.

What do I do with the well? You can't go down it, drink from it or even examine it. I thought about throwing the contaminated chicken down it to poison the temple's water supply, but "Throw Chicken" would only throw it in the air!

What about the duct in the temple? I've no idea whether it's big enough for me to try to enter? Or small enough that I have to insert things into it? And if so, what can I insert? Do I need to find a way to open it first? Or is it already open?

Someone here mentioned tying a wire to the rock. Where is this wire? I can't find it anywhere.

And most importantly, how do I see my inventory!?! The game's insistence on two-word inputs means "I" obviously doesn't work. But neither does "Take Inventory". So what are the two words I need!?!

Activate torch.

You need to retrieve what's in it. It's made of steel, so you will easily deduce what item you have to use to get it.

Try crawling.

It's at the power station.

Just type Inventory. In this case it will accept that single word.

Activate? How did you guess that? I would never have thought of it! You're a genius - or a walking thesaurus. Or both.

Thanks. I'll try that this evening. (Did I miss an in-game clue that there's a steel item hidden in the well? Or are we just supposed to guess?)
Juan wrote:

Thanks. For some reason I'd imagined a high-up duct, set near the ceiling, so I was trying to climb or jump up to it. I'd never have guessed crawling. (Again, did I miss something establishing that it was near the floor?)

Thanks. So it accepts the single word, but not the single letter...? :?

Are there any other single word inputs that I've got to look out for?
