What hint because I also made it to the woman inside the maze but don't know what to do with her. I can't leave the maze. Didn't find a hint however.
Did you find the note about the maze? It's difficult to find like the object from the drawer in the second part.
Don't know what the use is of putting the broken glass inside the bag.
Don't know where to use the musical pipes.
Do you know what to do with the barman?
Did you find an old book somewhere?
Don't know what's the use of the lever.
When you wash your hand you lose the soap. I guess you should use this somewhere else but don't know where.

If you give the three gold coins to the woman she gives you the old book. My problem is I gave the coins to the leprechaun to enter the maze. Did you find another way into the maze? And do you know how to leave it?
With the book and another hint inside the caves I found some way into the castle but I'm stopped by the mad professor.

Just solved this problem. I'm now standing at the entrance of the castle but have to find some way to get rid of the professor.

Oh my.
My experience is very different.
I used the coins to play cards in the bar. You get something there that you can use withe the leprechaun. That answers you other question. You get the coins back so you can give them to the woman. When you read the book, it tells you the hint that you need to speak the name of the man who lives in the old castle.
The rag I presume is used to either wipe something or impregnate with oil and become a torch. But logic is not always the best answer in some games.
I have finally found some food, so this is good.
I am now at the drawbridge and don't know the owner's name.
The maze is very long. You need to have several objects with you to map it, and then go and retrieve them to use in further mapping. Basically you need to go in a clockwise direction, starting with west. But you already have found the woman, so you don't need directions.
So how did you get into the castle?
At the leprechaun you need to play the pipes. These are obtained if you play cards.
What did you do at the caves to get the other hint?
No, I don't think I found the hint about the maze. Where is it?
Don't know what the use is of putting the broken glass inside the bag.
I just used it to map the maze. I didn't put in in the bag. What words did you use to put something in the bag?
Do you know what to do with the barman?
No idea.
I haven't found a lever or soap. So you are ahead of me.

The rag is indeed used to wipe something. Use it somewhere inside the cave to find the name of the man who lives in the old castle. If you speak his name the bridge lowers, and when you cross the bridge you encounter him. You have three turns before he puts you in prison and the game ends but I have no idea what to do.
Inside the inn, east of the barman there are some coats on hooks and a hat. The game doesn't recognise the words coat nor hat nor hooks but when you type EXAMINE POCKETS you'll find a note about the maze.

I tried this before but it was only yesterday I realized you have to type PLAY MUSIC, because when you type PLAY PIPES it says the sound you make is awfull.
I found the only way to take the broken glass is when you've the bag in you possession. After you take the glass you have a bag of broken glass in your inventory. Don't know what's the use of it however.

They are upstairs inside the Inn's washroom (near the old man).

Found my way into the castle!
I'm having trouble opening three doors.
-the oak door on the upper level of the tower
-the door east on the landing
-the iron bars in front of the jail
I found a jar of red liquid. Think I need this to corrode the iron bars in some way. But for now I've got to go. Will try again tonight.

Just solved the third part of this game. A lot of objects and rooms aren't needed to solve the game. Will add the walkthrough of this part.
Back to trying to solve the two problems of the second part I guess in order to solve the game completely:
-How to obtain the sword
-How to get the boat out off the boathouse
terri wrote:how did you get past lodwig? The "mad king of bavaria"
Make him trip over the broken glass
terri wrote:Did you wash your hands? Or save the soap til later?
The soap is one of the objects which are just scenery

I've added the solution of part two as far as I could get. I hope someone can solve the final two problems someday.

Today using unquill I finally solved the last two puzzles. I will rewrite the walkthrough.
To get the sword from the rock you have to wear the crown and type SAY SWORD.
To get the boat from the boathouse you have to type DRAG BOAT. Well I did try push and pull but I didn't think of drag.

I also was able to explain why sometimes you can't open the door when you turn the handle. This is only possible when the sound is on. If you used FX OFF or VOL OFF to turn off the sound effects you can't open the door.
